Marketing Spendhbd in Lagos Leisure Mall, Shoprite and the Coffee Shop || Shopped with friends afterwards ||

Yesterday being the world most celebrated date also gives me an opportunity to achieve more goals on #hive particularly in the #spendhbd community project. We've made lots of attempts in marketing Spendhbd in different area and this time we decided to try a different approach.

Since it's December 25th, we know that a lot of people would visit the mall to hang out, watch movies and do lots of shopping, the mall is very big and has different stores owned by individuals who deal on foods, games, clothing, beauty products, pharmaceutical and many more. So we saw it as a good opportunity to create awareness for #spendhbd project, get some stores listed and sign up new users whom we would show how to shop, generate receipt and claim discounts. We decided to visit the Leisure Mall on Bode Thomas axis Lagos. I and my local guide @beauty197 discussed on where to meet and we took another bus to the said location with lots of hope since it's a festive day.

With confidence, our branded Tshirt and flyers we entered into the mall but was shocked to see how scanty the place was, we wondered if anything was wrong maybe we've missed an important information. We found out nothing was wrong, just that the economy happened and everything was affected including the Leisure mall that use to be crowded at this time of the year.

We looked around and most stores were shut, the few opened were scouting for customers, the place was really empty and not what we bargained for. I suggested we check Shoprite which is another big shopping center and very close to the Leisure Mall. So we left for Shoprite and from the entrance I also noticed how scanty the place was with a very few people, I didn't really understand how bad the economy was until my visit today to the shopping centers.

We walked round with many stores closed and few people around, we saw an african store with beautiful hand crafted bags and went to take a look, we met the attendant and told her how lovely their items was and asked why the place was so scanty.
She also lamented how the economy had affected their business and that she hasn't gotten even a single customer all day. We saw a good opportunity to introduce spend hbd to her and also gave her the flyer. She said she was not the owner of the store and can't make decisions concerning the store, we asked about her boss and she said her boss might not be interested.

We continued our visit to Shoprite but to our shock, it was locked, the first time in history to see Shoprite locked.

We went upstairs to see if we could see people to talk to but there was none. Not wanting to give up after coming a long way, we thought about what to do next. My local guide suggested we visit some coffee shops around. We quickly checked the map and found two Coffe Shops around. We headed to the first which is Arami Cafe and got in, we met the attendant and told her about our proposal and benefits of the spendhbd project to her business and customers.

She liked the idea but said she was not the one in charge, her boss had traveled abroad and we would have to contact her to make the decisions regarding the business. We got her boss contact information and promise to come back after a feedback from her boss. The Coffee shop is a really beautiful place where different type of hot chocolate and Iced tea are sold.

We left and went to check the second Coffee shop but found it closed. We were exhausted at this point and really needed rest from the scorching sun.

@emiliashley338 and @beccatessy2 had informed us about wanting to shop and they needed assistance, even though we were tired, we went to assist them and joined them to shop. We shopped @bokku-mart and @beccatesy store.

At bokku-mart I got some beverages and cooking stuff, others also got what they wanted and we took pictures of our shopping.

I also got chicken and gizzard from @beccatessy store which I used to prepare dinner for my family.
It was a long and tiring day but also an exciting day.
We are still thinking of new and better places to explore for Spendhbd awareness, I'm certainly that our next strategy would yield positive results because we have a really good business area in mind to visit next.
