Hello everyone, I am glad to be here and happy to meet you all. I am Sandra Aigbe, but you can call me Sandra.
I am from Edo state, Nigeria and I am the last child of five children. I have one brother and three sisters. I am very family oriented and even if I am the last child. My family is most supportive of me and my goals and I try to support and be there for my them however I can.
Education
I am a graduate of microbiology from Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma. I picked microbiology because of it's versatility as I could use the degree to work not just in a laboratory as most people think but industries, factories, environmental agencies or even teach with it. It was a four year course and one I finished due to hard work and primarily the grace of God.
Work
I currently work as a customer information service officer in a Bank in Lagos. You may be wondering why I am not working in the laboratory or somewhere where my scientific skills can be put to good use? Well I initially thought that would be the case but because of the situation of things in the country currently, coupled with the need to provide for myself (I have always wanted to be as independent and self sufficient as possible), I had to look for a means of taking care of myself. It wasn't easy as I spent a lot of time applying for jobs, even working contracts as a data officer in an NGO and as a human resources assistant before I eventually got invited to take part in the graduate trainee program by a bank. It was a gruelling and highly fast paced learning course, especially since I didn't have a background in finance but I passed with the help of Jehovah and became a core staff of the bank. I have been working there for some years now and it hasn't always been easy but I've learned so much about providing efficient service and making sure processes are followed, continuously improved and staff are trained.
Personality
I like to cook and eat good food, I also like to listen to music, sing and read. I used to love writing but with the fast paced life nowadays, it's been harder to find time to write talkless of creatively. Cooking is good for me because not only do I get to make what I like, but I get creative control of my dishes and I can eat healthier which has always been a goal for me. Eating good food for me means more of trying a variety of good dishes. I'm a foodie not a glutton! I also love to listen to music and sing, even though I don't think my voice is musical enough yet.
I have a good sense of humor and love to laugh when I can too.
I love learning new things, visiting new places and meeting new people. Reading has proved to be one way to accomplish this but overall, I am a lover of God and I try to make sure that love is reflected in how I live my life everyday. Sometimes I come off as quiet and too serious, but I also can be jovial and really playful around my friends and babies too (I love them).
But in all, I try every day to be a better version of myself
Introduction to HIVE
I was first told about hive by my friend @beauty197. She has been very instrumental in getting me here. She's been telling me about it for a while now but because of my very busy schedule I hardly have time outside work for anything else. I was finally able to join her and some friends for shopping and what an exciting experience it was. Thanks to her I have gained a better understanding of this platform, how it can help me and I intend to fully participate as much as I can.
