It was an exciting weekend one not to be quickly forgotten as 24 friends attended and supported our social spending project called ShoKiN. Everyone that came to La'fresh restaurant on Saturday 30/11 got am amazing story to tell. At the end of the day, everyone spent HBD and got their discounts. Besides, we made friends and built connections.
In this post, we want to take you through memory lanes of 2 days ago. First of all, a quick introduction of the purpose of this account.
ShoKiN group account and why we need one
First of all, SkoKin stands for Shoppers Konnect Nigeria. Its an idea that we invented to promote active participation in this SpendHBD project. Basically, the idea is to spendHBD as a group at a designated business on a selected day. Its best to spend time with friends. So spending as a group creates more value, more opportunities to network and more inspiration too. So ShoKiN give use that opportunity to shop and dine together. You can see below the post used to explain more about this project.
We created this shoKiN account because we want to support those that actively participate in our ShoKiN activities - in essence promoting SpendHBD too. So below are the two main reasons why we created this shokin account:
Share updates about ShokiN activities: This account will be an information center for all our ShoKiN activities. We will make announcements of our ShoKiN events and reports of how it went. We will also do group promotional events in the future for SpendHBD. All our activities will be reported and promoted through this account.
Supporting shokin team members: All payouts from this account will be used to appreciate those that actively support ShoKiN events each day. That might include sending small HBD to everyone that attended our shokiN event for each day. When we start our SpendHBD social impact projects, we will also use funds from here to sponsor them.
The above are just the two main ideas for having this account. As we move forward, we will definitely see more uses for this group account. Now lets go back to ShoKiN day 6.
Day 6: sharing happiness at La'fresh Fastfood
Saturday marked the 6th day of our group spending event and we all went to La'fresh. Its a cool nice place and event center to eat out. Up to 24 persons were in attendance and its just fun,fun,fun all the way. We spent almost 3 hours there before everyone returned to their homes.
The main events at La'fresh includes eating their fresh, healthy meals. Of course, we all spent HBD and got our discounts. It was a great opportunity to network too. We met new friends and interacted with them. We cracked jokes and had nice interactions. As content creator, we took so many pictures too.

Preparing for day 7
Just like other days of the shokiN event, we will get word soon about the next business we will visit for this activity. We will also very soon start planning on group projects to promote SpendHBD. One activity at a time, we are promoting this new parallel economy and making sure that many new people taste the freedom that spending HBD brings.
Wonderful!! Supporting members will really motivate them to do more. I love the idea behind this project. We move!!

To have our own SHOKiN account is a very good idea since we are already helping the project of spending HBD more popular through our group meetups and shopping. We're getting more active Nigerian shoppers and I know the community is going to something more massive than this.
