That sounds sublime. That's how I always imagined knitting--a stress-free zone where you can coast at your own pace.
The only needlework I ever did was in the eighth grade...it took a whole semester to decorate a hand towel. My fingers do not obey me, except on the keyboard :)

I hated sewing at school, my hands always got hot and sticky and whatever I was trying to sew, very grubby!
