Huxley At 15 Weeks ..
Growing, Exploring, and Keeping Us on Our Toes Time is flying, and our little Huxley hit the 15-week mark yesterday, weighing in at a healthy 3.5 lbs! Each day brings new milestones in his world and for us, and every adventure with him is a mix of joy, challenges, and dare I say, plenty of laughs.
Hux is discovering more of his surroundings every day, and his curiosity is endless! He’s a true explorer, sniffing and tasting everything he can find. We’re learning patience on a new level, keeping up with him as he toddles about and tries to sample anything he can reach. Thankfully, he's slowly starting to ignore some of it. Progress, right?
One thing that hasn’t slowed down is his boundless energy! Some days he plays with so much vigor that by the end, we’re all wiped out. We may be “old folks,” as they say, but Hux has brought a fresh spark into our home, and honestly, we’re all sleeping like logs these days. I think even he appreciates the good rest.
Huxley has a knack for being photogenic .. probably the most camera-ready pup we’ve had in a long time! His "sit" and "stay" are coming along well, so as long as I’m quick on the shutter, I can usually get some great shots. I’ll be sharing a few of my favorites here because, let’s face it, who doesn’t love a puppy pic?
Recently, Hux had his first official haircut! He did great, though he got a bit fidgety toward the end. I like to take my time and get things just so, so I suppose I’m partly to blame. The cut turned out beautifully, but I have to say, he looks so grown up now.. It’s bittersweet. Huxley’s "big boy" look is adorable, but I’ll miss those baby-soft, tousled puppy days.
To help him get used to future grooming (and vet trips), we’ve been giving him regular touches on his face, ears, paws, and belly. He’s adapting well and becoming more comfortable with the routine, which will be helpful down the line.
Every day is a new adventure with Huxley, and I’m grateful for each little moment, even the ones that test our patience.
Bought A few New Silver Pieces ..
Recently I purchased a couple of Silver Peace Dollars .. (Huxley Approved) A 1934-P and 1935-P coin. I really have quite an attraction to the Peace Dollars as I know a few others do as well .. aka @silversaver888 and rarely spend an arm or a leg on a coin at one shot, so who cares. I paid $73.00 for the lot of two .. so roughly $36.50 for each of them. I had my eye on these two "Dirty Girls" on auction. No one else put in a bid I don't think, because my first go was accepted and the sale was complete.
They are very VERY toned .. So trying to guess at their overall condition was tough. I took a shot in the dark (since this was another estate sale bid) and was hoping under all of that oxidation and filth, there are Extra Fine or better details. I think the details are there.. No weird fire, water or basement smells present either. So far I didn't get around to cleaning them (Gently with the blue Dawn dish soap and a very light finger rub as @silverd510 recommends), but when and if I do I will share photos. Should I clean them??? Sometimes I actually like the brownish oxidation and in the right light, they have a rainbow tinge to them.
1934-P Silver Peace Dollar
Anyhow you cut it, it's another 1.5468 ounces of silver added to the silver stack! And the details appear to be awesome. Doesn't appear to be any scratches from cleaning, so that's good. The one coin has a small dent on the edge/rib area.. oh well. Either way I think they are worth a bit more than I paid for them, so I'm happy with the investment.

Awe! So cute! It's hard to remember how much energy and curiosity they have as a puppy. I remember Jovi used to crawl under our couch and claw away at the fabric underneath. She only stayed that small for a short time. Cool pieces! I picked up some silver myself recently. I also got to play with a pretty cool Jeep.
Adorable, adorable Huxley! You are going to make me get a Huxley too! (But, I don't want to get hurt anymore, so I won't.)
You may want to clean your Peace Dollars with a mild soap and warm water with a soft brush, if that helps. What cannot be removed by that method is toning (natural or artificial). They are beautiful as is, @bdmillergallery .
