It's crazy how expensive landscape fabric is these days, but I hope you bought some good stuff. Otherwise you will spend all your time weeding like we do! My wife has a list of stuff that she wants to get done this spring yet as well. We just had our house power washed a bit ago too. It was more expensive than last time we had it done, but I guess costs have gone up due to Covid or whatever. That north side just gets downright gross! We need a new roof and new windows soon. I have a list of expensive stuff we need to tackle when the money is finally available for it.
The stone has so much dirt on it when it comes that landscape fabric would be somewhat useless. So what I do is I go to BJ's and I pick up a 5 gallon pail of that Preen. Put a ton of that down and watered in and hardly any weeds grow. I also use the Preen on the garden and other areas. I've had pretty good luck with that. Sometimes on the garden I just put the grass clippings and they keep the weeds down for months. It's like a natural mulch.
My wife and I have a friend that swears by Preen. I will have to keep that in mind. We have rocks out front, but the weeds still come through horrible. Even when I spray them with weed killer.
Damn weeds. And I never remember as a kid the weeds surviving the winter like they do nowadays. Just doesn't get cold enough I don't think for an extended period of time anymore.
yeah, that could be. This winter especially was quite mild.
