Greetings, silver friends, those who like me, find common joys in this Silver Blogger community. Today I come to participate in the proposal by @ericvancewalton, which says: "If you had to summarize your purpose in life in one sentence, what would it be and why?"
I came to teach: among so many sentences that I run through my mind, in a list, looking to answer that question from Memoir Monday №47, this is the one that I think comes closest to my purpose in life. I have always wanted someone else to know what I learned. That's what I see when I look back from my childhood. My sister has written that I taught her to read when I decided I wasn't going to read her any more stories. I don't remember that, but in some way that speaks of me and my early vocation. I learned to knit and I wanted someone else to know, and so on with all knowledge.
When I was in high school I taught my friends the little I knew. I studied to become a teacher of Spanish and Literature, two subjects that I love, and I spent time teaching from the age of 17 until today.
Transmitting knowledge is a very worthy, comforting purpose, which brings with it the great satisfaction of seeing when the other person learns and yes, I don't want to sound arrogant; But I like it when I have met someone on the street and they thank me for what they know, or what they learned thanks to me. There is a pleasure in being able to organize strategies that help the other person learn what you are trying to teach them.
It is not easy, not everyone knows how to teach. You hear people say “that person knows a lot, but they don’t know how to teach it.” Those of us who have dedicated ourselves to this understand how complex it is to reach the mind of each person. There are people who find it very difficult to explain something so simple, like doing a banking transaction over the Internet. They get confused, especially if they are also mature.
Many factors intervene to guarantee understanding in the person who is learning. There are fears, prejudices, beliefs, ways of doing things their own way, among others, that interfere with learning. The person who teaches has to face each one of them, to recognize what exactly is preventing learning and try to overcome that barrier.
I like that, that is what I dedicated myself to for more than 30 years. There were people who learned easily, but there were others with whom I had to create strategies and have different tools. “Every head is a world,” they say, and it’s true, we are not the same.
Yes, I am convinced that my life mission and fundamental purpose is to teach and that is not good at all, sometimes in a simple conversation, on any subject, that intention comes out, which the other recognizes, and stops me saying “calm down, teacher” as a way of warning me, that I am trying to teach him something that he is not willing to receive, or that he already knows, but that is another topic for another post.
I learned about blockchain seven years ago, and I still teach others to make their publications, because I see that they know how to write and they can do well here. As long as I live I will have that north, which brings happiness not only to those who teach but also to those who learn.
Thank you for your kind reading.

My respects to you as a teacher. Even I was in that field for 15 years. So I do know the essence of teaching. Nice one.
How nice, you know the most beautiful profession. You know about affection and what you also learn in that permanent exchange. Greetings.

Teaching is a wonderful profession, some might even call it a vocation or a calling.
It is a vocation that fills life with hope and guarantees that we also learn from students, which is as valuable as teaching them.
Very nice profession, teachers forge the men of tomorrow, they not only transmit knowledge and teach how to do, they also transmit values. Beautiful photos.❤️
Muy linda profesión los maestros forjan los hombres del mañana, no solo transmiten conocimiento y enseñan a hacer, también transmiten valores. Preciosas las fotos.❤️
I can so relate to what you are saying, my friend. The only thing I've noticed about myself is that I don't have the patience I used to have. And the disinterest and apathy kills me. I don't see how young people can be so disinterested: everything is the same. I have discovered that I am very mimetic: disinterest, provokes my disinterest. Or is it that this is a bad time to be a teacher? hahaha. A hug
They say that school is our second home because here we learn the accessories of home. I congratulate the teachers who do it with a vocation and desire to serve since I have encountered teachers who do not have it, who studied it only because it is a well-paid profession financially. But that person does not consider it good pay to be told: I learned to read because of you. I have the vocation to serve but not to teach and that is something that some people confuse, thank God I realized it in time. I congratulate you on your important purpose in everyone's life.
