I have been watching my granddaughters this morning, they build an imaginary world full of fascinating creatures, which butterflies flutter around the house and talk to each other, also from time to time they come to where I am to be part of their conversations and learning. Rachel, the older one (10 years old), has a particular fascination for dinosaurs. She speaks about them with such vehemence that her energy becomes contagious. Step by step sge begins to explain to me about those extinct giants and the way scientists tell how they were extinguished.
"Dinosaurs became extinct because they could not adapt to climatic changes," she told me, and at that time, my mind flew towards my own reality.
I realize that the similarities between us, those of my generation, and those prehistoric giants are more evident than it seems.Like dinosaurs, we take the risk of losing ourselves in a world in constant changing.We live in a technological era where everything evolves at a dizzying speed, from the music we hear to the way we interact. I miss the days when music was enjoyed on vinyl records and cards were sent by mail. Whom of my generation dont feel the same as me?
I think that the generational gap is insurmountable, I see it daily at home where we live (3 generstions) together .
My granddaughters develop with amazing skills between applications and social networks, while I still bathe with the concept of "selfies."
I let me catch for powerful reflection; If I do not try to adapt, I stay behind, like those dinosaurs that did not know how to evolve.
Precisely #Hive, has taught me that technology is not just for young people, it is a tool that has enriched my lives, it has approached new friends, has made me find new interests.
So today, while watching my granddaughters to play I have committed to being like a bird that arises from the ashes of a dinosaur. I am determined to learn, to explore and enjoy this new life, because I know that this age is not the end, it is a beautiful new beginning where adaptation and being open to these times are fundamental pillars to continue alive.
