Yesterday was kind of a blah day other than a phone call with my VA therapist. I will get to that call a little later in the post. After being up most of the night (insomnia sucks), I sucked down some coffee, read a little, watched some news and took my shower.
Something about a good shower is really refreshing and makes you feel new again. I went for another cup of coffee but realized I had already finished a pot. I figured that was enough for me for the day and brewed a fresh one for the wifey for when she awoke.
I then took some advice of one of my SGS friends @kerrislravenhill and used some patience in my online coin shopping for the morning. I found nothing that met what I was looking for, didn't settle for less this time, so closed up the browser tab and let it be.
From then on I spent some time on Hive reading through some posts, commenting and voting. I finsihed up my post and published it, then took a nap. By the time I woke up it was around 0600.
The rest of the day is a bit of a blur until my phone call with the therapist. It was a very productive one. We discussed the Body Keeps the Score book and how I have been doing the exercises in the workbook.
We discussed some of the questions I have about the trauma, and the exercises. We talked about next steps and will meet again in person later in March to discuss even more. Overall I was very happy with the discussion and the outcome. We did agree that is is in my best interest to get more active.
We especially discussed how it is very important to get active when I start experiencing thoughts of the trauma to release some of the adrenaline that builds up. So the plan is to get on my walking pad for some short walks when I start having thoughts of it in the future (like right now after this post).
Just that phone call made the day a successful one for me and I am so looking forward to our meeting in March.
Later in the evening I was able to get back online for an auction, found a nice coin and won it it. Of course I will share when it arrives.
I finally was able to get a good night sleep last night and now sitting here with a very strong cup of coffee writing writing this post, boring you with random memories of yesterday.
What was your day like yesterday? Hope it was good, if so share what was good about it in the comments. If it was shit, share wwhat was shit about it.
Thanks for reading,
Joe

Yes yes and yes! I love that wee owl pot by the way!
Great to see you didn't buy any old coin for the sake of buying something!
My day was a mixture! Finally went to another town to get hydrotherapy for my arthritis... Nobody to drive me so took buses and got there after almost 2 hours to discover they had too high chlorine levels in the pool, so it was closed 🤣
You have to laugh though, the physio did give me some good exercises, both land and water so now I need to get my arse to our local pool next week and sign up for membership!
Yes, I am really impatient sometimes and will have FOMO when it comes to a coin.
that sucks about the chlorine. Good they closed it. I used to hate it when pools would have too much chlorine content. Good that you got some exercises you can do now. Arthiritis sucks and really sucks in the winter time.
I wish we had a local pool so I could do some swimming. I am so fat now though I would look more like a whale floating through the water.
It's great you ended up having a good day. My day yesterday I wouldn't say it was bad or good, but very hectic. I am moving my mother's apartment and a move always involves a lot of work.
I hope you will be very successful in your purpose of being more active, that is always good for our health.
Happy weekend!
Moving is always a big chore. I wish you all the best in your mother's move. May her new place bring her great warmth and pleasure. Being retired military, the wife and I have experienced lots of moves and they are a pain. Yes, being active is something that will take some getting used to again, but like every habit, it will take some time to build.
I recently adopted a poor Christmas Cactus a few weeks ago at a clearance item at a local hardware shop. It lost it's blooms, and very thirsty. Perked up well in a few hours after watering. It replaces a long lost Christmas Cactus that when missing in the move to my permanent residence. It gives me joy to add this to my home to satisfy my nurturing side.
Emotional traumas takes time and patience to come to terms with friend.

I remember you writing about your lost christmas cactus and getting the new plant. I am glad that it is doing well now and it makes you feel good too. Hopefully it continues to bloom and give you pleasure.
Yesterday? I don't remember that far back... Good to hear it was good, and good idea to get that stress out when those thoughts come up. PTSD is a bitch! On the brighter side coin shopping is always fun, I keep finding stuff I would like to buy but all too expensive. Either that or I'm getting cheap, a very real possibility... lol
Everything seems to be getting expensive these days. However, you can still get lucky every now and again. I did yesterday. Hope you have a good weekend.
Great that your day ended up being succesful even after such a horrible night!
The older I get, the less well I function (read: don't function, lol) when my night has been sleepless. I had one of these a week ago and I'm glad it was just one..
Pretty cool that you ended up winning an auction that night after the failed search in the morning ;)
My day yesterday was ok, nothing out of the ordinary honestly but nothing bad either.
Any plans for the weekend?

Yes, I havea harder time funtioning after a sleepless night as well. I usually have to take a long nap the day after.
Yes, I was pretty lucky on the auction that I didn't get outbid at the last minute. That usually happens to me most times. Especially when it is a nicer coin.
Glad you had a decent day yesterday. I don't really have any plans for the weekend. Probably just stay in out of the cold and watch TV, read and Hive.
Hear you on the naps, I already feel when having to get up that the day is going to be a failure if I don't give in to the sleep at some point.
That's such a great feeling not being outbid last minute, I always have the idea many bots are on top of these biddings to outbid you at the very last moment.
I found out tomorrow may not be the best day to visit a flea market as another event is cancelled due to the wind, we'll see tomorrow how it goes.
Wishing you a relaxed weekend :)
I need to check out the auctions that the place near me does more often. I think it might be a good way to pick up some nice silver without having to run into the store and all of that.
Yeah, I don't have any coins shops around me. The closest is in Louisville. So I usually use auction sites online or a local flea market that has a booth.
That makes sense.
Took a nap and then it was only 6 am.... Wow. But then again, I can see myself doing that. Right now I am usually up at 5 and no time for any naps till bedtime, around 23. Maybe when the kids move out and I don't work so much I will have time for naps.
Anyway, glad to hear you had a nice talk with the therapist and awesome that you won the coin auction!
