Finally, this chest cold is finally done I think. Luckily it never got serious. I was able to get ahead of it I think before it could really set in and that helped a lot.
So tomorrow, now that I can somewhat breath, I am going to try and resume my walking again. It has been just over a week since I last walked on my walking pad, but should be able to shuffle along at a pace that allows me to breath normally.
Anyway, I ordered a book to days ago titled "The Body Keeps the Score" at the recommendation of my counselor. It is supposed to be how the mental aspects of trauma can have an impact on the body I guess. Supposedly I have PTS, but not sure what I think about this whole thing of it impacting my physical abilities and health.
We will see.
There is even a workbook that was published one can buy to accompany the actual book. So I purchased it as well. Both should be here today or tomorrow from Amazon.
I hate ordering books from Amazon. One of my favorite things is browsing bookstores. The quiet atmosphere and the occasional embedded coffee shop is so inviting. However, I figured a regular bookstore wouldn't have them and with my not feeling 100%, I took the world wide web way out.
Eveen though there are some doubts I have about this book, I am going into with the most open mind I can and willing to do the workbook.
Hell, I am willing to try almost anything to feel better.
There are several new books on my bookshelf begging me to read them. Why on earth I would buy another, I just don't know. But, it seemed like the thing I needed at the time. Being in a rut for so long, I am looking for options to help me fight the demons both mentally and physically.
Lately, the demons seem to be winning and I am just running delay and defend tactics against them. Medication, meditation, reading, therapy, walking etc. It all just seems like I am barely holding things back. It seems at anytime I could fall apart both physically and mentally and a small thread is just holding it all together.
But we all have these problems occasionally I guess.
Getting over them hump is my problem and that hump has lasted about five years now. So it is not an occasional thing for me really.
Pull up the boot straps Joe!
That is what I tell myself over and over again. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. What I can tell you is I won't give up, and will continue to hold my head up and try.
Thanks for reading,
Joe

Good you whacked that cold. The older we get the more we need to be wary and look after ourselves. I woke up today at 4am thanks to mr back saying that is your five hours sleep and I want stretching. WE just have to get on with things I guess.
Have a good one.
Yep, not much choice otherwise. You have a good one as well my friend.
I still have a couple pairs of my combat boots which I used every now and again. It's a great idea to pick yourself up though, you just gotta keep on going! Life doesn't give us a whole lot of choice, does it?
!BBH
I had one pair of boots I kept, because they were newer. I gave them to my youngest son. NOt sure if he still has them or not.
Yep, no choice. If I get blessed enough to wake up, gotta at least try and make the most of it I guess.

Thank you.
You're so right about the ambiance found in a good bookstore. I can still recall my times in our local local Borders store before they closed down the chain.
The live events and the warm, personable staff kept me coming back for more. So I hope that book helps you to keep putting one foot (pun intended) in front of the other. Keep Going Joe! :)
