oh wow... heheh i loved this! I do know several people who were in arranged marriages - and most turned out very well!
Tell me - how does someone choose the person that the girl will marry?? Do the parents get to know the young man at all before all this?
Oh, it's good that you know some people in arranged marriages too and that theirs turned out great. It's amazing how relationships work at times :)
Regarding your question, I am sorry but I don't have any idea at all how the choice is done. My parents were quite different coz my Dad already knew my mom then and he liked her even before they formally met. He wanted to marry her so he sought the help of old folks back then to ask the hands of my mom for marriage, lol! Their old culture put that when a guy visits a girl and asks for her to marry him and the girl couldn't speak a word, then their wedding will be arranged. Apparently, that was what happened to my parents, lol!
oh that's good that they knew each other before!!! I love that heheheh
Sorry that your mom didn't have a say in it - but what a blessing that it worked out!
and yes - I know hmmm probably about 4 women who were in arranged marriages.
Even 2 marriages are here in the states :)
They said that they were very happy for their parents to choose for them. I was surprised when I heard this from the women! heheheh It's so unfamiliar in our American culture LOLOL
It's so neat to see our differences - especially when they work out well hehehehe
may I ask - was yours arranged also? (is that a personal question - i dont know hahahah)
I ask questions because I'm curious but sometimes I don' tknow if they're appropriate LOL
It's okay, hehe. Mom didn't know Dad at first, she only met him when he along with old folks arrived at their house the time they asked for her hands, lol!
It is amazing that some women let their parents choose for them. Just happy that those of whom you know turned out great :) It is definitely surprising especially when it happens in this 21st century :)
Haha, it's okay to ask. I don't mind at all. Mine wasn't arranged. I am glad that the old culture vanished and we didn't become part of it :D Otherwise, I would have run away, lol!
hahahahahahahaha well I agree - I think that the woman should know and trust and love the man she wants to marry!!! so i'm glad you didn't have to run away! LOLOL
Thanks to change I didn't have to do that, nor my siblings, LOL! I like your virtual laughter, they are very infectious that I found myself laughing alone, LOL!
