Hello friends!
Well, the time has come. Last week writing the post about the HPUD, I realized how fast time goes by. The year is coming to an end and now Christmas is coming. I see that people are getting ahead with the preparations as if a certain hope was reborn after, I suppose, many complex situations during these months. I'm sure we've all experienced bad days or unfortunate events, so seeing that many people are putting up their decorations, I've taken advantage of this long weekend (here day 6 has been holiday!) to be a little girl again and enjoy decorating the house for Christmas.
Because it really is a moment that takes us back to the past, to when we were little and we were really excited to decorate everything so that Christmas would come as soon as possible. Why not feel the same now that we're older?
Let's try it. I've done it and it's satisfying to take the decorations out of the boxes after so long without seeing them and smile at some of those pretty and cheerful decorations that we liked so much.
So little by little, we put things on the tree and without realizing it we have filled that tree with light, sparkles and magic that comes back to us every year and to the whole house. Everything seems different, new again, and as if it were taking us back in time. Magical decorations and wonderful lights that once again give shine to our old dreams and also to the new ones that are coming this year that will begin...
But what I like most is putting up the nativity scene. That nativity scene full of figurines, animals, plants, a river, that sky that takes us far away. The houses, the castle of the Three Wise Men from the East who will also arrive and of course, the manger with the Virgin Mary, Saint Joseph and baby Jesuchrist.
Everything is very tender and lovely. Most of the figures are very old, almost as old as I am, they have been with me every Christmas at home, and I keep them with love.
Over the years I have added some figures, it is not easy sometimes to find the same type, because over time the style of the figures they sell varies, but sometimes in some Christmas markets you can see them and if I see something new or different, or some other accessory, animal, etc. that fits by size, more or less, I buy it. In this way I have managed to create a great setting, a fantastic nativity scene that I love.
And now we put the last lights on, we turn everything on and we smile again, once again, one more Christmas, another year while we grow older, but without losing the Christmas spirit but also that spirit that we had as children. We must continue enjoying the little things, remembering those moments that have brought us here, giving them value and being thankful for everything. Maintaining the illusion makes us somehow continue living with the good things of being a child and with the memories that have made us adults, we keep everything, and we try to be happy, for example now, at Christmas, putting up the Christmas decorations.
