My Whole Existence In one Sentence!

in Silver Bloggers5 days ago (edited)

To summarise my life's purpose into one sentence....arrh that would be quite a statement to be making, because I honestly don't know what it is.

There maybe people who have their purpose laid out nicely, step by step, there are some others who are still wondering;

"Purpose, what is it all about? And I do happen to fall among the latter. I am still seeking to discover it, this grand plan that brought me to Mother Earth!

But I do feel that the entirety of one's purpose is always an unknown X, because of the vast and intricate nature of life itself. So capturing the essence neatly in one sentence would be something beyond me, it would be greatly reducing its profundities.

When I was young, I had my dream, I mean without limits, I believed that my sister and I would do grand things together, get an education, become medical doctors, get married to wonderful spouses, have kids, provide for those kids both materially and emotionally, provide for our parents when they are aged and travel around the world.

Then she died, I felt like a 10,000-volt of electricity passed across my heart, I literally died also! That was not meant to happen, that was not part of the well-written script. It was then that I was jolted into realizing that life could be unpredictable and sometimes cruel, and does not always follow the script we write in our hearts.

Then came the divorce, still an unexpected event, it was never a part of the original one-sentence plan.

I have stories, everyone does! Some told in laughter, others in tears while some are yet to be written. I was someone yesterday, another person today, and tomorrow I would evolve into yet another that I know nothing about, today. We grow, we learn, we unlearn, and we redefine ourselves in ways we cannot even fathom, and purpose can truly remain unfulfilled until the very last breath.

However if I have something to say in favour of life's purpose, I would say that it is the sum total of all of my experiences till date.

If she was here, I mean my Grandma, I imagine she would smile at this point of my writing, pat my shoulder, and remind me in her very uniquely simple way that I am already walking in purpose;

"Nwa'm(my child), life's purpose is not something you go looking for in far away places but it is something easily within reach, it is in the work of your hands, the love in your heart, for the tree does not seek purpose, it simply grows, gives shade, bears fruit, and when it falls, it gives back to the Earth. Each day you wake, work your best, love your best, and leave the world better than you met it, then you have lived a life of purpose."

Her repertoire of knowledge and her poetic ways of impacting same, never ceased to amaze me, even after this long since she's been gone.

So in conclusion and in response to Eric's prompt, my one-sentence life's purpose is an ongoing narrative and it goes thus;

To maximize my happiness and self-expression through helping and striving to help others, for we only survive when we help each other and fail when we hurt one another.

Thank you.

Hello, my friend @Edith-4angelseu, I think that the purpose of our life is what we do every day:

To maximize my happiness and self-expression through helping and striving to help others, for we only survive when we help each other and fail when we hurt one another.

A big hug.
