Exactly. One day I went to login to CB to buy some litcoin to send to ionomy to turn into HIVE and was surprised to see this new Plaid requirement. Started the steps and realized that not only do they want your online banking login (I never set one up due to security concerns) but that my bank isn't supported by their network.
I used to have them send my bank two small deposits to confirm ownership, but that option is gone. Then last spring I was using a no KYC crypto ATM to buy BTC>LTC>HIVE through ionomy, when it took the $60 in BTC I'd sent to ionomy in order to buy more HIVE and then promptly shut the site down (and took my crypto along with it).
Then I thought I could still use the ATM to send BTC directly to hive-engine and convert that to HIVE, when the ATM suddenly began requiring tons of KYC.
Can't win.
What scares me about Plaid is the reports I read online of people having their bank accounts frozen by them and being unable to access their money. So the search continues for me to find hopefully a new crypto ATM where I can turn my fiat into BTC (none offer litecoin here) into HIVE.
I haven't tried, myself, but around here the easiest (allegedly!) way to buy crypto with cash is the Coinstar change machine at our local Safeway. I don't know what sort of commissions they charge, but you can get Litecoin there, as well:

Don't know if you have any such around where you are, though.
Now that's interesting, will have to check my local area and see. Thanks for that helpful tip! :)
You're welcome; good luck!
