It's been six months already that my daughter Erica married the love of her life, Michael N.
The perfect choice in my opinion, I liked him the first time we met. He is a gentleman, with solid
values, a terrific family, brains, common sense and a gentle soul. I now have 4 sons, how can one gal get so lucky.
On the big day there was so much excitement in the air, along with that, emotions were high and the nerves set in. I had a hard time trying not to cry as I woke up to my little girl still sleeping in the bed we shared on the eve of her wedding day. So peaceful and beautiful, just as she was, no make-up or fancy hairdo, just a lovely young face with so much promise.
Her bridesmaids were just gorgeous in their gold velvet gowns, as were my 2 granddaughters, Ava our junior bridesmaid and Mya, the flower girl who kept asking, when do I throw the rose pedals?
This picture is very special to me as it shows the earrings Erica wore that day. I had given those to her the night before, a gift from her grandmother. You see, when my mom was very sick, dying actually, she asked me to get out an old jewelry box, I did what she asked, I knew exactly what she had wanted. As a little girl, my mom would bring out the box and set it on her bed, allowing me to play with her jewelry. Oh what a sweet memory that is, so glad to not be too old to remember.
I handed my daughter a gift wrapped box with a card that said, Happy wedding day sweet granddaughter, much love Gramma Rapp. In this box were my mom's pearl and diamond earrings. We both cried over that one.
That's my girl, a little feisty but fun.
Knowing we had a professional photographer on board for the day, I made a conscious effort to keep my camera tucked away. I didn't think a black camera strap around my neck matched my gown. 😄
Although the following pictures are pictures of pictures, huh? I took some snaps of a beautiful album that was done by a pro, he did a great job capturing some unforgettable moments.
It was a splendid day, one that makes me smile whenever those memories roll into my mind.
I am so happy I finally got around to doing this post, it's been rolling around in my head since that very special day. I guess I needed time to allow all those happy writer's juices to flow. But now I have it documented for all time,
I hope both @thebigsweed and farm-mom are lucky enough to live to see our granddaughter marry. It's a tall order, Ava is just 13. But the hope of sharing that day with her is alive and well, but whatever may happen, she will get a special gift with a hand written note. This card will say:
Happy Wedding Day my sweet granddaughter,
Much Love, Gramma J. (@farm-mom) 😂
Hello to all of my #sliverbloggers friends, it's been awhile since I visited, but this community is never far from my thoughts. I'm glad to be here with y'all. May all of you be blessed with long and happy lives.
Hey @lizelle hope you are enjoying life. So glad to have this community to express ourselves and share life's most precious moments. Thanks for all you do, which is a ton, you are the perfect example of how us "old timers" can still inspire others and have a good time doing it.
Congratulations to the beautiful couple and the family. I am sure it must have been the happiest moment for you. Best wishes for them.
What a beautiful post and WOW - what a wedding with such a huge entourage - just like a film star. Your daughter is truly beautiful. Wish her and her hubby a long and wonderful life together.

I remember reading your post when your daughter got married but I didn't know of the story behind the ear rings, that is so poignant yet loving.
Hello @livinguktaiwan yes, those were very special. I am happy to report after 6 months as Mr. and Mrs. they are doing great, in fact they just bought a house. So excited for them, closing is in early April.
Thanks for keeping an eye on me, much appreciate your kind words.
Have a great weekend!
I love reading about that day. Everyone was so happy! Hope you make more posts about the day in the future.
Good morning, dear friend, hope this finds you well.
That day was just perfect, so much love floating around. It was like a big family and friends' reunion, loved it!
I am just getting back to so many friends on #hive after taking time off to vacation. Tough winter in Upstate, I am sure you had a few blasts of, oh so cold, winter temps. We left NY AT MINUS 11, the day we set off to Florida.
Now it's time to get those seeds started, I'll be breaking out those heat mats soon.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Broke mine out March 1... Everything is up so far except some leeks (old seed) and arnica and agrimony. Next starting is Wednesday: 11 trays.
wow, good for you, I gotta get busy 😅
What stunningly beautiful memories @farm-mom; I remember reading about your gorgeous daughter's wedding, but lovely to see more of it! The treasured gift from her Gramma Rapp brought tears to my eyes, how very special was that, and I know your granddaughter will be equally touched when she gets her special gift from Grammy J one day!
It is so lovely seeing you here again; life's changed since the loss of my tiny feisty little Mom Lily, but she was tired and hated not being able to walk and really suffered in the end, so although it's a cliche, she really is in a better place now, and at least made her 90th birthday!
Good morning @lizelle, we our back on the homestead after vacationing in Florida, we had a wonderful trip, love having summer when it really is winter.
Losing your mom is such a heartbreaker, I have been there, when my mom was battling cancer, I was with her all the way, she put up a good fight but when it got to the point where it was nothing but suffering, I prayed God would take her. I felt relief, then cried my heart out.
Your mom was amazing! Time will heal you and all the best memories will comfort you.
Maybe now you'll have some time for yourself, you deserve it.
Always nice to chat with you my friend, so now, let's #hive on !!!!!
ps. have you heard from @dandays, he hasn't been around for a while.
Wonderful memories and photography from wedding day which I remember reading when you were arranging hairstyles on the day, feels like yesterday!
Extra special when small surprises left by loved ones come out from years looking after to use on the day. Not having a daughter I have started making arrangements with certain items to nieces for good keeping.
Very special reliving such an eventful day.
Good day to you Ms. @joanstewart, hope all is well.
I am a very sentimental type of person and save all kinds of stuff that I share with friends and family, always makes people smile. I think it wise to plan ahead when it comes to special things, like those earrings, it helps us to stay connected with those we love, even after we pass.
Hope you are enjoying the day cheers!
Cherished memories and moments, always shows celebrating with family together.
So true!
