Oh yes, I need to remind myself that there is an election soon. Eish, all of these short-term "success" will soon burn away as it is wholly unsustainable. We should just hope that it is not too late. For all the damage we do we can do so much good as well. It is just sad that the majority of people could not care a bit.

Empty promises time again in the rush for votes. But this time round, the voters know it and they simply stay away. You are right about the non caring majority and things will get much worse before it can get any better.

Hopefully the younger generation voters will have a say and an impact. One can only hear so many empty promises and live in a society where you can actually see how things deteriorate before you hopefully connect the dots. But I am skeptical of my own hope.
Too many new political parties are mushrooming now that will be sure to take many votes away from the big parties and things are going to turn out very interesting.
Hope is indeed all that we have but expect many dirty tricks.

@fermentedphil, I sent you an on behalf of @papilloncharityAlready the truck burnings. I am not sure if they are related. It is a little bit scary because I am presenting my paper on Saturday in KwaZulu-Natal and I need to drive those very highways. But hopefully, all will be well. Politics are so nasty and there will never be easy answers.
I certainly hope that the trip to KZN will be safe, and you will have to take ultra care on those roads. They have re-opened Van Reenens pass and I think that the truck burning issue is targeted at the companies that hire foreign drivers. The best answer in the political hemisphere will be to neutralize the greed factor.

Thank you so much! I will for sure. I hope that it resonates with a lot of people, and I really hope that there will not be any "social police" as the topic I will be covering is a sensitive one for some people. But I have my own "weapons" (in rhetoric) if they come after me. Because as I heard from various people now, things are still "boiling" in KZN. But I will hopefully write something about it as well.
Just you go there and do your best, the rest will all take care of itself. And please do not take an AK47 with you, as it might upset some people. Hahahaha.

Things are still boiling in KZN for sure, but they are mostly political fights and the politicians are trying to score points. Always a danger.
