Next to our house we have an open plot with lots of beautiful trees where plenty of monkeys come to sleep at night. We are used to them by now, and the dogs used to make such a racket when the monkeys came to bed, but now they are not even bothered by them.
There are also plenty of birds in the trees and we have gotten used to the sound of these birds and monkeys. It is actually very peaceful and if I close my eyes and concentrate I can hear various different birds singing and chirping. It's usually a beautiful calming sound, but this morning, just before my alarm went off, a very annoying little bird woke me up.
When I heard this little bird I woke me up with a bang! It sounded like he was stuck on one note and oh my he was so out of tune you won't believe it. It sounded like the bird had laryngitis or like it was going through puberty because it was such a terrible out of tune song it was singing.
It was also whistling but the weirdest tune I have ever heard. I cannot even describe it to anyone because it didn't sound very normal.
It was the first time that I had ever seen this type of bird. It was a bluish color with some green in the feathers. Just as I was about to take out my camera for a photo the little blue bird flew away. It would have been great to have this little fellow identified.
Now don't get me wrong. I love nature and all God's creatures but this little bird needed a tune-up, or perhaps it was sick or perhaps it was just having a bad day.
Sometimes I feel like this little bird. I feel out of tune and as if I don't really know what I'm doing....but who does anyway?
I couldn't help this little bird, but you can help someone in a difficult situation. Just by being kind to someone might brighten up their day. Give what you can, but make sure that when you give you don't expect anything back.
Remember:
A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
