Hello friends of this beautiful silver community, a big hug. The theme for this week leaves us a lot to reflect on and it is that everything we know (or almost everything, the fundamental thing) has been taught to us from generation to generation.
Since we are born we are taught to walk, kiss, hug and share love with everyone around us. They are the affections that will make us better people
My grandparents, the first generation of my apprenticeship, were like all those of yesteryear who scolded with just a look, but who actually shaped our feelings of strength and quiet struggle. I don't have photos of them but I do keep an image in my thoughts of them as very hard-working people who never had time to show affection to my uncles. Also, with 17 children I clearly understand the lack of time.
I keep this beautiful photograph of my mother as a treasure, I like it a lot because it shows how close we were. Today marks 10 months of having left at the side of the Lord, but he left me a very great legacy, the love for the family.
She told us many times about her difficult situation when she had her first 4 children, and that on several occasions they asked the first two of my brothers for adoption, she says that not even because of the most terrible situation she was experiencing, she thought about the possibility of give away to any of your children. Luck came to her with her fourth husband, the one who did value her and married her and gave her all the comforts she deserved.
God gave her her prince charming and her crystal castle. From here I look at them with gratitude rather than pain, they were excellent parents who taught me the principles that I have taught my children and that now I help teach my grandchildren.
For my children I chose what I liked the most from my upbringing and added my personal touch, as a mother I tried to teach my children all my knowledge, including English, of which I had a lot of knowledge. I also let them choose some things because it is about giving personality to each one but always giving them the advice of why I did not like it or why I did like it.
My 3 children know how to cook the dishes we use on special occasions, learned from generation to generation. Now that they have children they are beginning to apply what they learned with me and they are also giving it their touch as parents and I think they are doing very well.
These are my 5 grandchildren, from whom I have learned that they love each other more easily than children since there is not as much responsibility or it is shared with the mother, she bears the responsibility and I only help her with some advice, she asked me or not, I am obliged to give it to him if necessary.
Do you know that I used to wish that my children lived in different countries so that I could travel to visit them and see other cities? Well, now that I have it, I feel that I made the wrong wish, being divided into two countries also divides my heart because we cannot be close. Now I would like them to live on the same street where I live so I can see them every day and not every two years.
Something that I have confirmed with this whole situation is that the lesson of family union has been well learned. When my grandchildren from Venezuela tell me: I miss you grandma, when are you coming? Although it is something that breaks my heart, it makes me see that family love is present at all times. Likewise when those from Colombia ask me to come and be with them for a while.
I think I did the homework that my beautiful mother taught me well, but I would like to improve it more for when we are all together, with God's favor. So I can say that I have left a mark in this life.
This is my entry into the #silverblogger community and their suggested topic for the month of April: Generations.
Version en Español:
4 generaciones./ Silver Prompt: Generations

I was filled with emotion while reading this, it's a tough beginning but I'm glad that everything turns out good at the end , she was able to drop a good legacy for you and you did a great job by passing it to your children too.
You have a nice family filled with love, and your grandchildren are looking great and beautiful.

Thank you for your beautiful words Maria. For me it has been a privilege to be able to pass on my knowledge to my generation after that, and for my children to do it with theirs. Not resting on teaching is the success of a well-educated generation.
Yeah, and that's how it will continue to spread, that's a power of influence.

Family love and unity is everything and I can see that in your pictures. Your grandchildren looks so cute and amazing. Passing down knowledge from generation to generation is something worthwhile and great to see your children inculcating same knowledge they learnt from you to their children.

What a lovely, heartwarming story.
I truly believe the love we feel for our families is unconditional and ever lasting, no matter how far away they are. I always feel sad after a visit, missing them the minute they leave. But soon I recall the joy we shared.
Thanks for sharing 🤗
