I got into collecting baseball cards in the early 90s because that was the thing for a grade-school buy to do, but that lost appeal for me over time. Now my cardboard addiction of choice is Magic: The Gathering, and playing games with other people is a big part of its enduring appeal for me. Hobbies aren't just a solo activity, and whether clubs or games, it can provide a low-key social outlet for us introverts, too.

MTG certainly has endured over the years! Back when we had our gallery/shop in town, one of my frequent visitors was an artist whom — it turned out — had created the art of a number of cards.
He was an introvert, as well... and an incredibly talented creative genius.
I used to go to stamp collecting fairs, from time to time... going to a convention/group event is normally way outside my wheelhouse, but I did enjoy being among others with similar interests.
