The all-girl cast of the GillGlenmore Gals kept on changing.
Audition after audition was done to find a replacement; who would be the perfect fit for the role? The director had to plan carefully when scouting for talented artists. She for sure did not want any drama queens for this play!
It was as if a spell had been cast.
Members of the cast had more dramas in real life than any script writer could ever come up with, and dropped out, one after the other!
Replacement performers had very little time to learn their lines.
Everything else was going to plan and the stage was set for an unforgettable comedy-drama. Costume design was done, caterers and accommodation were booked.
It finally was opening night, and excitement was in the air.
A rip-roaring party was planned after the show.
The final cast arrived for the opening, but there was more talk of their personal dramas beforehand than about their performance!
Some cast members' make-up had to be redone as tears of laughter, and sadness, flowed.
Life certainly has been a bumpy ride for all!
They had to pull themselves, to themselves, or the show would be a total failure, and that simply could not happen!
Tension was high in the director's seat, but she knew she had chosen the very best replacements from the cream of the crop, and nothing else could go wrong.
One should never make an assumption like that, as there was yet another change the night before opening night. The new cast member however immediately fitted in.
The play was a roaring success; the audience were in stitches with a tinge of sadness as the drama unfolded.
I'm of course talking a whole load of rubbish here!
There was no play.
It merely was a 'girlie' weekend, and only girls understand what that means.
Fun, fun and more fun!
I invited my besties for a weekend down the coast, and many had dramas in their lives, so the names of those joining kept on changing.
One of my besties helped make up numbers, as some fell ill and yet others had drama of all kinds.
It was a great weekend in the end; we exceeded our daily step targets, and chattered till the clock struck the midnight hour.
Room-mates told of how their besties snored, lady-like, mind you!
Insomnia got some up in the early morning hours, and the chattering started again, but this time more subdued.
We played board and card games; sometimes tried cheating, but the gals were way too sharp so no-one got away with that!
That of course led to much laughter!
I made Ouma Lily's Tonic Wine which added fuel to the fire.
We made new friends, and had an absolutely fabulous time.
A more subdued sunrise this morning with much clouds on the horizon
In the end, good company, good food, much laughter, with stunning sunrises and the ocean lulling us to sleep every night, was the best tonic anyone could have asked for!
The final cast getting wind-blown

You had me going on that performance bit, and it was a great way to set up the true story! I'm so happy you had a lovely visit with your changing cast of besties. What a large theater group you all must be!
Haha @owasco, it was touch and go with only a few die-hards!

Feliz semana @lizelle 🥰
For sure @mamani, it's like a never-ending promise and affirmation that life still offers so much, despite the losses many in our group have encountered.
You sound like you had a whole bunch of girl fun Lizzie...
Now we have to guess who took the prize of Drama Queen hehe!
Haha, don't put ideas into my head, Ed!
I'm going to ask the girls to vote😅
The die-hards & the newcomers had a wonderful time, like only girls know how to😅
Would I do that Lizzie 🤣
What n approach to this post. Creative indeed and all of your smiles made me smile.
Love Ouma Lily's wine!
Haha, we certainly had a blast. Ouma Lily's wine was a hit, it's like a mulled wine. My Mom always mixed a bottle of sherry with a dry red wine and added the spices & herb to that😉
