Bring a Little Light and Love into a Tired World - Memoir Monday #47

Circle of life 1.jpg

Sharing light and love with the people I cross paths with.

Growing up in a nurturing extended family, I believed from a young age that there's good in everyone. As I grew older, I realized it wasn't always easy to find the good in some, and I had to dig deep! I still looked at the world with rose-tinted glasses. Bringing out the best in the people I cross paths with just came naturally.

I firmly believe our thoughts are like a magnet, and play a massive role in our lives. Expect the best, and that is what you get, nine times out of ten!

Giving birth to two beautiful sons, nurturing them till they were old enough to stand tall in a harsh world. Easing hubby's lifelong struggle with Diabetes, and caring for my Mother in the end. I believe these were vital parts of my purpose here on earth.

I have tried to share love, light, and laughter with people throughout the different seasons of my life. Laughter especially - the best medicine they say, and it's so very true!

I've been a shoulder to cry on, and been given one to cry on as well. Sometimes by someone who hides a heart of gold beneath a hard shell!

Why focus on all the doom and gloom?
Do good things make the headlines? I cannot remember seeing any for a very long time!
So why do people give power to grim headlines by letting them become the talk of the day? Yet, that is what a jaded world does every single day. Sensationalism seems to be the norm.

No, I don't live in a bubble. I stay informed but refuse to let something beyond my control affect my peace of mind and that of the people around me.
Does reinforcing all that is wrong with the world bring about any change whatsoever?

Being a light in a dark world more or less sums up how I see my purpose in life!

If you had to summarize your purpose in life in one sentence, what would it be and why?P.S. I'm still playing catch-up - this has been my response to @ericvancewalton's Memoir Monday #47 -

I'm sharing an extract of a beautiful composition written by my son in his last year of school at the age of seventeen, entitled 'When God Created Me'

God didn't create me so that I can be perfect, no human has that privilege. I'm glad that He didn't make me perfect, because then life would be rather boring. I am also glad that He created us all differently, with our different looks and personalities.
If He made us all the same, this would most probably result in a most boring existence for all of us.
...
All things considered, I am very grateful to Him for giving me life and I will repay Him by living my life according to His laws and wills.

Deep thoughts written by such a young man, someone who today is perceptive to the needs of others, super considerate to one and all, and quietly helps wherever he can!

Being parents has always been hard, especially because we have wanted them to be like us and sometimes that is impossible. But in the end we have been lucky because we have achieved many good things in them. I am very satisfied with mine and I think you are too with yours. What deep thoughts your son had at such a young age. He saw kindness and love in his parents.
Keeping informed today requires knowing how to distinguish the true from the false, but we cannot stay on the sidelines. We will continue to lend our shoulder and find that good shoulder to lean on as well. I enjoy reading what you write, it makes me reflect and think. Have a good Sunday dear @lizelle. I forgot to tell you that you keep finding cute memories today it was the turn of that little note from your son. Very beautiful.🥰❤️

Yes I am very proud of both my sons, as you are of your children! We as parents can only guide them and lead by example. I'm sure you agree it's such a joy to know that we did a good job and that they can go into the world and shine wherever they go!
I'm finding many memento with my decluttering.
I so appreciate your thoughtful comments @mamani 💞

Thank you @steemflow and @indiaunited <3

I can relate to raising sons to handle the harshness of the world. It is hard to see them struggle, but they are doing their best and we did ours to prepare them. Although I sometimes wonder about the youngest.

You hit the nail on the head about not dwelling on what one cannot change in this world. Yes, stay informed, but no need to dwell and stew on the things you cannot impact. I would rather focus internally on the things I can change and have an impact on.

Please continue being the wonderful soul you are @lizelle. You are a breath of fresh air in this world.

Awe thank you @coinjoe!

I would rather focus internally on the things I can change and have an impact on.

100% agreed, we don't have to let the things of the world get us down if we can have a positive impact on the world around us!

My sons are so different, absolute opposites, but both have an innate kindness. Whereas my oldest, who wrote this composition, can take the blows of an unkind word, my youngest is not as resilient. As parents we can only guide them, the rest is up to them, as long as they know that we are there for them at all times!
Have a wonderful Sunday @coinjoe <3

They sound very much like my two sons.

Caring for those that we love is very important obligation for us, and nurturing two sons in this harsh world is a very difficult one but I am glad you succeeded in doing your best in the interest of your family.

Happy Sunday to you

Thank you very much @porqpin, a great Sunday for you as well!

I believe we attract what we think. It's just sometimes that I cannot avoid thinking the negative😬😐.
