Fue en un día de celebración, en ocasión del cumpleaños de mi hermana menor, quien cumplía 62 años. No siempre tenemos la oportunidad de reunirnos todos. Algunos miembros de la familia no pudieron estar allí físicamente, pero de algún modo todos estaban. Febrero y marzo son los meses en que se celebran más cumpleaños en nuestra familia.
Mi hermana es muy querida por sus amistades, yo siempre digo que de nosotras tres es la más noble y cariñosa, sobre todo con la familia, y nos tenía preparado un sabroso almuerzo.
Recibió muchos regalos nuestros, de amigos, vecinos, y de su hija, que actualmente vive fuera del país. Ella la sorprendió a lo grande, con un regalo que tocó a su puerta. Fue un momento difícil para ella, pues es su única hija y no la tenía en casa en un día tan señalado.
Curiosa, me detuve a ver uno de los regalos, pero lo que más llamó mi atención fue el mensaje de la bolsa en que venía. Le hice una foto y la guardé porque ese recordatorio de "Haz lo que le dé color a tu vida" pensé que en algún momento podría aplicar en la mía.
Así fue. La desconexión total del sistema eléctrico en Cuba provocó la falta de luz en casa. Estuvimos muchos días sin corriente eléctrica, oscuridad de día y de noche, miedo a perder lo poco que tenía mi nevera, celulares sin carga, el computador sin poderlo utilizar, perdí el sueño completamente y hasta me inventé una lámpara para ver si podía dormir, pero mi cabeza sólo pensaba en cuando se solucionaría el problema.
Todo me parecía gris para no decir negro, porque la noche en realidad es gris. Todo esto provocó días de mucho estrés y frustración y que me llevaron a alejarme un tiempo de Hive un proyecto que le da un sentido distinto a mi vida y me llena de satisfacción.
Cuando todo volvió a su normalidad recordé la frase que da título a mi post y me he hecho el firme propósito de que no puedo volver a repetir esos días en que faltó luz. Hoy tengo que lograr dar mucho color a mi vida. Con la luz vienen los colores y con ellos la vida es más llevadera, más bonita.
A estas alturas de mi vida me haría esta pregunta: ¿De qué color quiero ver la vida? Y escogería varios colores porque cada uno de ellos posee un significado.
Necesito una vida llena de colores donde prevalezca el color azul que es mi preferido, el mar, el cielo, este color me trae paz, tranquilidad y si los asocio con mi signo zodiacal se dice que necesito una paleta de colores. El verde color dominante en la naturaleza, porque en esta están representados todos los colores que quiero dar a mi vida. Y sobre todo el amarillo color de la esperanza, de los buenos deseos, el amarillo representa lo eterno y aunque no pretendo ser eterna, si quiero vivir muchos años más.
Mis deseos son darle muchos colores también a la vida de quienes me rodean y en primer lugar a mi familia, tengo mucho amor para darles.

She received many gifts from ours, friends, neighbours, and from her daughter, who is currently living outside the country. She surprised her in a big way, with a gift that knocked on her door. It was a difficult moment for her, as she is her only daughter and she did not have her at home on such a special day.
Curious, I stopped to look at one of the gifts, but what caught my attention was the message on the bag it came in. I took a photo of it and kept it because I thought that reminder of ‘Do what gives colour to your life’ might apply to mine at some point.
And so it did. The total disconnection of the electrical system in Cuba caused the lack of electricity at home. We were many days without electricity, darkness day and night, fear of losing what little I had in my fridge, mobile phones without charge, the computer without being able to use it, I lost sleep completely and I even invented a lamp to see if I could sleep, but my head was only thinking about when the problem would be solved.
Everything seemed grey, not to say black, because the night really is grey. All this caused days of great stress and frustration that led me to take some time away from Hive, a project that gives a different meaning to my life and fills me with satisfaction.
When everything returned to normal I remembered the phrase that gives title to my post and I have made the firm resolution that I can not repeat those days when the light was missing. Today I have to manage to give a lot of colour to my life. With light come colours and with them life is more bearable, more beautiful.
At this point in my life I would ask myself this question: What colour do I want to see life in? And I would choose several colours because each of them has a meaning.
I need a life full of colours where blue is my favourite colour, the sea, the sky, this colour brings me peace, tranquillity and if I associate it with my zodiac sign it is said that I need a palette of colours. Green is the dominant colour in nature, because it represents all the colours I want to give to my life. And above all yellow, the colour of hope, of good wishes, yellow represents the eternal and although I don't pretend to be eternal, I do want to live many more years.
My wishes are to give many colours also to the life of those around me and first of all to my family, I have a lot of love to give them.

Es interesante el tema de los colores, algo estudié sobre eso... verde también es salud y amarillo sabiduría. Amo los colores creo que sin ellos no hay vida. Mira cuando estudiaba pintura mi profesora me decía el blanco no es color, es luz y el negro es ausencia de luz... aplicable a la vida? Cada uno que lo piense.
En este momento quiero rojo, rosa y naranja, los colores cálidos son mis favoritos. Rojo fuerza, rosa amor, naranja comunicación y energía.

Sometimes when inconveniences happen, we get frustrated an bogged down with the situation that we forget there is light on the other side when the situation is resolved. I understand when you say that at this point in your life, you need light and colors to make it through. Do what you love doing.
