Dreams: The Pointer. #Memoir

in Silver Bloggers2 days ago

Good morning, silver bloggers and my special greetings to @ericvancewalton.
This is my response to one of the #memoirmonday prompts. Today I want to talk about my experience with dreams. Maybe you are yet to get onboard the #memoirmonday initiative, you can join the train here

I have had several dreams in my life. Of course, you know that man of about 46 years old must have dreamt the whole world by now 😂. However, there are very few dreams that mean so much to me. I call them pointers because I see them as the indicators which are pointing me to the direction my life, my destiny and my soul is going. Those messages could be for the moment or for the future. It could also be an answer from God to my prayers. Sometimes, when I had those dreams, I received the direction of what my pursuit in life should be. And these kinds of dreams are not many. I think I have like 5 - 7 of such dreams in all my years.

A Light For Deliverance

A few years ago (about 10 years ago), I usually had a recurring dream. In that dream, I would see myself attempting to climb or move forward but couldn't. I would struggle in the dream but my legs would not be able to move. It would seem as if some unseen forces or chains were holding me down. That experience gave me great worry every time (because it was a recurrent dream)

So, one day, I relaid the experience to my senior pastor. He guided me on some prayer points which I used to pray every night. And then I didn't have such dreams anymore till date.

The reality behind such dreams is that it is revealing the spiritual bondage our lives are in. Well, some people don't believe in spiritual things. But the truth is that there are forces controlling this world which you are living in. After the prayers, my life began to experience breakthroughs in marriage, in ministry, in finances. Things became easy for me to achieve. Now, I'm employed; I'm married; I have my personal house; life is going on well.

Encouragement And Hope

Like two or three times I have had dreams which mean the same thing. In the dreams someone would lead me to a construction site. I would be shown some structures which were still under construction. And he would tell me that I'm still building. He would encourage me that those structures I see people inhabiting have been completed. So, I should not be discouraged or complain. That when I am done, I too will enjoy the pleasure. In one, I saw more than 30 gigantic structures which were not completed. In another one I saw a house with many rooms that was still under construction.

I used to have these dreams whenever I felt discouraged due to life challenges or when I observed others in their wealth and glory. Those dreams give me hope that my season of greater blessings and glory is on the way. It encourages me that my labour to God and humanity will bring harvest someday.

Dreams are not just a replay of our days activities. Some of them are strong messages from our spirit. I’ll will still tell you others. For now, let's break it there. Have a great day 😊
