What a beautiful post! Very touching. I'm sure if your mom could read it she would be happy. I am amazed at the ability of mothers to multiply, to be in everything and thus, have love left over to give. At first, I felt some anger with your father, but then I saw all he had to do for his family. Those were other times, which perhaps we don't understand now. I never understood why they lived so long with a tarp for a roof but now I understand he needed a store to make money so he could buy wood and then he had to haul it by boat.
I still think the age difference is wrong, but it was common back then.
