My silver hair amongst the golden pomegranates
I guess a good place to start with this blog would be to highlight my 70th birthday. This was really a special time in my life and the only thing missing was that my beautiful daughter was in South Africa at the time.
She, however, arranged a gift that I would have a photoshoot to celebrate and photographs which would be a wonderful reminder and memory for all of them.
Anyone who reads my blogs will know that I am a very proud mother of three. My oldest son Jack, 44 is married to a gorgeous lady, Les who is like another daughter to me.
I treasure this, as I am aware that so many families do not get on with the in laws or out laws as they are so often referred to - so I am truly blessed to have Lesley in my family.
My son Lee, my daughter Eden, Jack my firstborn, his beautiful wife Les, Richard, father of my two youngest and myself
I wish I could have been thinner on this wonderful occasion in October 2019 when they got married.
However, I decided to let my hair grow out to its natural grey and enjoy the Silver Threads among the Gold
Back to my 70th birthday celebration and the wonderful photoshoot.
We had a lovely day and part of my gift was to have my face professionally made up by the best makeup artist I have ever met - (in the world)
Here are some photographs from the day:

Maria took this photograph of me
She is really the best make up artist I have ever come across.

So, what a lovely day with the best artists - and my sons taking such wonderful photographs of me.
These, I am happy to have on the blockchain.
This was one of my favourites
So I am thoroughly blessed to have my children close by. Eden arrived back in Cyprus on 1 Feb of this year. I hadn't seen her for a year. Don't ever want such a long separation again. I'm hoping that she will be here for my next birthday. So hard to believe how time has flown.
Our first entry yay! Thank you for the heart warming story @pandamama, I like your take on the silver and golden threads. You certainly are blessed with your children and your beautiful on-the-inside-and-outside daughter in law🤗
This is how long it's taken me to realize it's not the precious metal silver.
LOL @dandays!
Glad I was able to bring a different perspective
Of course, thank you! Each time I'd see Lizelle or whoever, now you post in silver bloggers I thought it was something to do with the precious metal.
Whoops!
That's an understandable error in today's day and age where silver and gold are so important
Happy to be the first entry @lizelle - look forward to the others
Happy belated birthday! You have such a lovely family. I'd say you don't have very much silver in that hair, not compared to me at least :-) I used to call my hair "salt and pepper" but it long ago changed to just salt!
Thanks Keith for the compliments. Yes, mine is still salt and pepper. Not sure for how long.
Well, my majestically well preserved lady. You don't look like you're around 70 nor as a joke. No matter how silver you may think you are. You must be kidding!!
Stunning photos. :)
Why thank you so much for the compliment. We still need to hear things like that - and you made my day. The photos are great - so lucky to have such talented kids
What a great first contribution to our inaugural #bow initiative. I love that photo of you and love the silver hair! This time has been so awful for families who live so far from each other. I have a friend who's seen her husband only twice in the last 18 months... Hopefully, with the vaccine rollout, families and spouses will be able to travel to see each other.
Thank you Fiona. Thanks also for the compliments - so happy to have joined your community and been the first contribution
What a warm post with a great story and stunning photos, dear @pandamama! 😍
Thank you dear @Olgavita for your lovely compliments
You still look lovely and young for Seventy, your silver hair suits you too.lovely post and lovely family, good luck, and have a great day.
Thank you so much for the lovely compliments. I'm enjoying my hair now. Have a great day @artywink and thanks for connecting
Only as old as we feel, plus our children keep us on our toes and young, love the last photograph and see it is your favourite too..
Thanks for sharing @pandamama hopefully soon all together to do this again!
Thanks Joan for your lovely comments.
We all getting there, good to see you happy with family, cherished moments....
Thanks, Joan - and thank God for my children - they really keep me young - and I haven't had any grandchildren yet. Hope that changes soon.
No grandchildren here either, not that I am complaining with the way things are. Boys keep one on your toes always up to something.
My younger son is planning to move so time now being spent trying to assist where I am able with paperwork.
How old are you sons?
Guys are 37 and 39, time flies, sure will miss younger one if they get to go....
The photos are stunning and you look absolutely vibrant!!!! You also seem like you are a professional model, a true natural.
Ah how nice of you to compliment me in that way. I was blessed to have two very talented photographers, my sons and a wonderful makeup artist Carolyn
