I have just retired at the age of 60 years after more than 30 years in the public service. This is a new phase of my life that is still very new to me. However, I strongly believe that age is just a number, and my age should not be a barrier to what I want to do for the balance of my life. My wife and I love to travel, and we will continue traveling as much as we can; once it is safe to travel. We also enjoy meeting people from other backgrounds around the world and engaging them in conversations.
At the ripe age of 60 years, I have just started my own YouTube Channel where I post motivational videos. These videos are made by me using a software and all scripts are written by me. It is quite unusual to be a YouTube content creator at my age, and most other YouTubers are young and good-looking. There is a steep learning curve for me as I am not so technically inclined. But as I have said earlier that age should not be an excuse for me.
The main motivation behind my YouTube ChanneI is to spread positivity around the internet, one motivational video at a time. At the same time, I want to give hope to those who feel that they are not able to make it big in life. I do not want anyone to give up on their dreams because of their age or financial status. I want them to know that it is never too late to make a change. If you have a good idea, go ahead and make it happen. The world needs more positive energy from people like you and me.
So if you are feeling down or just need an inspirational boost, head over to my YouTube channel and watch some of my videos.
A Dose of Motivation And Inspiration
There are so many people who managed to accomplish so much later in their lives, proving that age is just a number. Here's a couple of stories about people who didn't let their age stand in their way:
Gail Borden (1801-1874) was an American inventor who created milk chocolate and condensed milk. At the age of 55, he invented a process for condensing milk by evaporating the water from the milk itself which reduced the volume by over 90%. This allowed for greater transportation and preservation without spoiling the taste! He started his own company and made enough money to build his own library in his hometown where he lived in poverty after spending most of his fortune on
At the age of 77, Minoru Saito of Japan became the oldest person to sail solo and nonstop around the world. That was Saito's eighth circumnavigation; he began sailing in 1973 and had already made seven solo journeys around the world. He shattered his own prior record, which he set at the age of 71 in 2005. In October 2008, he embarked on his ninth voyage, hoping to complete it in 287 days. Due to numerous delays, the journey took nearly four times as long, totaling 1080 days.
John Glenn, the first American to orbit the Earth, made history again when he became the oldest person to travel in space at the age of 77. He was a passenger on the space shuttle Discovery, which orbited Earth 134 times in nine days. Glenn worked as a payload specialist, taking part in numerous trials to see how his 77-year-old body would react to being weightless.
Gladys Burrill is the oldest woman to complete a marathon, according to the Guinness Book of World Records. She finished the race in Honolulu in nine hours, 53 minutes, and 16 seconds at the age of 92. It was her fifth top-five finish in Honolulu in the last seven years.
As we grow older, we tend to form beliefs about what we can and cannot do. We get set in our ways and often put limits on ourselves before we even try.
When faced with challenges, many people think negatively about how they will handle them. They don't believe in themselves and give up before they start. But some people set out to show the world that age is just a number and it doesn't stop you from achieving your dreams. You can do anything no matter how old you are!
