I don't know to cook but I love to eat sweets
When it comes to food, choosing between healthy and delicious is like fighting between heart and brain. Often the heart goes for delicious food but the brain keeps on pinching in the subconscious mind to go for healthy food. If you get both, then it's like a lucky draw but that is possible only in home food, prepared with much love. And preparing sweet regularly at home, is no easy task. Taking care of my craving for sweets, the lady does prepare varieties of sweets at home, like Gaja ka halwa, Kheer, but then they don't last long as we have much competition at home. So often I end up bringing sweets from shop, since we do get many varieties of sweets, Of late I am trying not to go to those places where the sweet shops are located, since she keeps on convincing me that I should eat less sweets, but this was an interesting story.
When we were about to return from Kolkata, the kid said his teacher wants him to bring some special sweets from Kolkata. If you don't know, then Kolkata is famous for sweets as well, apart from a very sweet language. I was not in favor of going to a sweet shop but to honor his commitment, we decided to find out a good sweet shop and since we had a car with a driver at our leverage, he took us to the famous Balaram Mullick sweet shop located at Gariahat. And now let me show you the varieties they had, we tasted a few and almost everything tasted amazing.
Initially we thought, we would just eat few there and pack couple of packets for his teacher. But after tasting the kid wanted to bring some for home as well. His friend who was traveling with us, also did not want to miss the opportunity and brought a big packet. And we ended up bringing 4 packets for us alone, one of them to give to our in-laws.
These three packets lasted only five days at home, the lady and my son don't like sweets much, but they equally participated in the competition to finish them fast. And for me and my daughter, it was like a sweet feast, so much so that, my daughter was saying we should go often to Kolkata. And Kolkata is equally good for shopping as well, you will get unbranded items in a much cheaper price, will share more on that.
What are your favorite dishes to cook or to eat? Do you like sweets more than anything else ? And do you cook them at home or you have some nice shops like us, from where you buy? What about varieties ? We get so many varieties here that you will never get bored.

That's the best part of this story. In college days, we plan to visit places just to taste a particular stuff.
Cooking at home/rented house wherever I stay is imperative because I am compelled to manage in a budgeted expenditure. But in that process ,I ended up becoming a better than average cook. I am good at making North Indian style perfect Chole and Sambalpuri Ambila and typical Odia Dalma.
I do like sweets too. And mostly on occasions.
Thank you.

Some day we will come to your home :) May be next year, once the kid's exam is over, we will plan a lot of travel.
Sure, you are most welcome to my Home. I will be delighted to host you.
🙏🙏🙏
Misti dahi khave. Bengali sweets, and rasagolla are popular. I personally have a different choice when it comes to sweets. I love rasmallai more than anything else.
That shop looks like a very posh one. The rates must be higher. But as a metro city, Kolkata is lot cheaper than other metro cities.
Have you ever tasted cocoa based sweet? Try it if you find it in India. They are available. Taste is unique.
Will be on my hunt :)
Oh yes sweets are so tempting but no healthy at all, all sugar... I prefer raw sweets with no sugar
Best dish of all pizza, but real Italian pizza not others 😂 quite easy to make too, we do it at home
Italian pizza is nice, and I like that too, my daughter is a big fan of pizza.
Well, you did the right thing by avoiding sweet things to sell location 😅but who can say no to a sweet feast every day?
I like desserts, especially Indonesian desserts with sweet taste. I have to make it myself during the fasting month/Ramadan. But whenever I go to other regions in my country, the only thing a must take home thing is sweet cakes, sweet crackers, sweet honey (there is bitter honey too).. all sweets for my sweetheart.
That's funny when the wife and your son are also competing for the sweets😁
I can't hold myself not tasting sweets if I go to those places :) such cravings I have for sweet, I can eat them all day, but only if allowed by body...
Couldn't agree more, but I just checked my blood sugar, and I'm fine
I made this pudding for the community gathering tonight, and it's so sweet😆
Sweet food or snacks do taste good, but if there is a delicious and delicious food I am also confused about whether to choose, the doctor forbade me to reduce sweet foods to prevent the increase in sugar in my body, but I find it difficult to resist it 😊
Same here, I do exercise instead to be able to eat them.
I only like to cook meat like this:
I also like to eat salmon, duck fillet, cabbage rolls. I like sweets so I enjoy eating various desserts. Like lazy cake or tree cake I also really like White salad.
My son likes grilled chicken a lot and he prepares nicely as well at home.
Rosomalai is my most favorite sweet, if you eat it once you will only want to eat it. When I go to my in-laws' house, I take sweets with me. My in-laws' house people love chom chom sweets. Apart from that, they love to eat Doi sweets. The sweets are made from milk, they collect pure milk from the village COWS, it is not possible to make sweets with adulterated milk. Bengali culture is deeply connected with sweets, that's why Kolkata sweets are so famous
Rosomalai is a nice treat in sweets that anyone will like, we finish a kg in one day :)
You might not know how to cook but I'm sure your wife loads you with good food 😁
Unhealthy food is much more attractive than the healthy ones but we require a lot of discipline to eat what is actually good for our body.
100% , she takes care.
That's wonderful my friend!
Oh yes sweets and chocolate, as long as there not full of sweeteners and proper sugar i'm all good, i've seen first hand with Annabelle the detrimental affects of artificial ones, not good.
Food in general Italian proper Pizza like the Romana with soft egg and parmesan, Roquitos and spiced beef with pepperoni, India a good curry, Chinese Sweet and sour King Prawn or a Curry and good old English pies, hot pot etc -American Burger too - and crisps make the world go round, thank you for sharing @sanjeevm :)

I tell you the truth, it is not easy to avoid sweet tasty things. 😃 Especially, what I'm seeing here, they are very enticing 😊
Exactly..it's impossible.
personally i love eating lots of fruits and vegetables but heathy eating can be very hard in most cases because sometimes one is always tempted to take sweet things you know 😄
Unless I am forced, I can't resist.
The decoration of the shop is designed in harmony with the food inside, which is immediately remarkable. People come immediately.
I like red meat thoroughly fried, and I don't know how to cook.
It’s like we are the same thing. I may not eat food for a whole day but I will surely take sweets, fruits or junk foods…
Well, sweets are not too good for the health and I’m glad you mentioned that
Sometimes, I wonder if those who eat sweets enjoy like we who eat real food😅
Food is better to me though
Hey,my friend! I love what they have here. They are really appetizing. I wish I could have some of them 😊
I love sweets too and I tend to lean towards junk food, I am always torn between eating healthy or eating what pleases my palate.
