Gorgeous pictures! I love the sky at the start and the end of the day.
I haven't found it easy taking part in top authors. I just about found my way to the silver bloggers poll and voted, but I wouldn't have a clue about how to find other polls. I've not been able to get keychain to work on my iPad, so running to multiple sites has to wait until I'm on my desktop. Sometimes technology is the barrier to engagement.
There's often a lull in participation during the holidays - mid-winter, summer and spring - it's part of the natural rhythm. The good news is that people have lives and are getting on with them. Discord has its uses, but not everyone can get there, and it can be a dreadful time suck. It's helpful for sorting out problems or organising things, there have been some good initiatives like online, real time yoga classes.
Running a community is a big commitment, on or off line. It usually takes about two years of dedicated work to get a thriving community. It doesn't seem to matter if that is one hour a week or twenty: the important thing is consistency over the two years. Keep turning up, providing something that people want or need, being friendly, making it a positive experience, and keeping your own expectations realistic. That way you can ride the lulls and downtimes and not put too much energy into them.
Hive is still in early adoption stage. Everything is working as it should. The only thing we need to do is enjoy ourselves and make friends.
Yes the sky and nature is terrific to us.
The weekly polls well you can hit the ta, search function and they should come up, so basically when hoosie creates one for saturday savers he will use the tag (and of course I am not sure which it is without looking it up so wont say incase I get the wrong one🤣)
Communities take time you are so correct, ones on Hive are no different.
The lulls well to me they have been all year, but once crypto goes up, I am sure people will be back!
