Not too late to go back to school

in Silver Bloggerslast month

Okay so whilst not strictly true it certainly feels like it..

They say you can't teach an old dog new tricks etc what a load of bollocks. We can do whatever we set our mind to.

Having a Masters in Knowledge Management I admit I love learning. That is one of the beauties and benefits of Hive is that we meet people from all over the world and learn more about other cultures, customs and locations or at least we could if we were so inclined.

I make it a daily habit it learn something new.

It might only be a new word. But at least it is something ...

For example phantasmagoria

I learnt that today...

wtf is phantasmagoria I said ...

Lie...

I actually said fantaswhat!

Do you know what it means? You might have had one you know...

Dream-like visions can be called a phantasmagoria.

If you've ever had a very high fever, you might have experienced seeing a phantasmagoria of strange images in your half-awake, feverish state.

The strange, hallucinatory images you might see in a dream are a phantasmagoria. Even when you're awake, if you see odd or fantastic things — either real or imagined — they're a phantasmagoria. The word was invented by a French dramatist in 1801, who used the Greek word for "image," phantasma to make the French word phantasmagorie. The word referred to a "magic lantern" show, which in the 1800s was a popular display of projected images.

It is actually a word of the day from that I subscribe to.

I do love words and one of my favourite podcasts is Something Rhymes with Purple a comedy podcast from Susie Dent and Gyles Brandreth. Very clever and funny people you will enhance your vocabulary. They tell you in a hilarious way the origins of language.

So I had intended to write about something totally different that I have been learning or is it relearning and of course flew off on a tangent.

I seem to pick things to do or projects to start with monotonous regularity and sometimes I drop them as fast as I pick them up.

Back in the day I used to code websites from scratch with HTML for fun.

So three years ago I bought a domain with the intent of creating a website to show resources for people to make money online and resources to save, amongst other things...

I have had various businesses and consulting services that I created sites for over the years.

This last wee while I decided I would delve back into the world of Wordpress!

I am sure you know WordPress is a popular website creation platform and is popular because in theory it is easy to use and has SEO benefits.

So I have been tinkering away again and having fun!

I have been focusing on SEO Plugins, as we get Yoast built in.

It has been fun seeing how things have changed over the years. But I do like the plugins, they make it quick and easy and in theory all clean code that search engines gobble up!

The other cool thing I like is seeing what it will look like on pc, tablet and mobile, helps you tinker and get right much faster that trial and error!

So don't be afraid of starting something new, or even relearning things.

We are Silver Bloggers afterall and we can fluffing well do anything we want.

We earnt the right not to give a fluff anymore!

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful new week!

Learning new things can definitely be a thrill. Especially new words that you then get to fit into random sentences!

Yeah that is fun indeed. Learning something and then putting it into practice is a cool feeling!

The only sadness is the truth that remains that despite having the ability to learn new tricks, we're still old dogs 😢 lol

shhhh you bugger! Yeah it is ridiculous. Old dogs indeed. Funny though the older we get it feels surreal.

Lol, phantasmagoria.....what a fluffing long word for something as wierd as a dream

hehe did you like it! I keep getting phantoms in my head!

😂😂😂😂

We're never too old to learn some new tricks! Great job!
!LOL

I don't think the flounder I caught today was very happy with me.

Everything is well thanks @tengolotodo, trying to get use to new surroundings by the sea, and a tiny house.
Slowly moving around Hive communities, I've missed quite a lot.
Stay well, will chat again.

Learning something new every day is part of human growth and, in my case, I have just learned what phantasmagoria is and, on occasions, I have had visions of that type.

It is good to know about your master's degree in Knowledge Management because at the institute where I work I am Director of Knowledge Management.
Thanks for sharing.
Happy weekend.
