I hope everyone is well, I just found this community while browsing among all those that exist in this wonderful universe of Hive, and after reading the description I think I have found the right place, a place where I will feel comfortable, because I am one of those people who already in their 60's find it hard to adapt to technology and new trends, but I am still at the same time starting in this content creation, perhaps because of that old hobby of wanting to write to express my ideas, a hobby I have since childhood. Since a few years ago I decided to give technology a chance since I recognize that we live in an era that forces us to adapt, and in fact I already have no problem handling a smartphone and watching youtube videos, which is one of the activities I like to do the most, but it was precisely doing this that I came face to face with something that made me travel back in time, and take me back to that time when I was just a kid, and I would sit with my friends and siblings under the living room window of the neighbors' house to listen to my favorite radio show and that surely you, if you are contemporary with me and lived in Venezuela during the 6's and 70's, will probably remember with nostalgia, it's about the adventures of Martin Valiente, the godson of death.
Espero que todos estén bien, yo acabo de encontrar esta comunidad mientras navegaba entre todas las que existen en este maravilloso universo de Hive, y después de leer la descripción creo que he dado con el lugar correcto, un lugar en el que me sentiré cómodo, pues soy uno de esas personas que ya en sus 60 le cuesta adaptarse a la tecnología y a las nuevas tendencias, pero aún así estoy al mismo tiempo iniciándome en esto de la creación de contenido, quizá por esa vieja afición de querer escribir para expresar mis ideas, una afición que tengo desde la infancia. Desde hace pocos años que he decidido darle una oportunidad a la tecnología ya que reconozco que vivimos en una era que nos obliga a adaptarnos, y ya de hecho no tengo problemas en manejar un teléfono inteligente y ver videos de youtube, que es una de las actividades que más me gusta hacer, pero fue precisamente haciendo esto como me encontré de frente con algo que me hizo viajar en el tiempo, y remontarme a esa época cuando yo era tan solo un niño, y me sentaba junto a mis amigos y hermanos bajo la ventana de la sala de la casa de los vecinos para escuchar mi programa de radio favorito y que seguramente a ustedes, si son contemporáneos conmigo y vivieron en Venezuela durante década de los 6 y 70, probablemente recordarán con nostalgia, se trata de las aventuras de Martín Valiente, el ahijado de la muerte.
It was what they called at that time, a radio soap opera, and basically it was about a vigilante who along with his faithful squire “Frijolito” confronted tyrants to defend the poor and vulnerable. At home we had no radio, so we had no choice but to listen to the program through the window of the neighbors, who when they were in a good mood even opened the door to let us in and let us listen to the program comfortably, but if they were in a bad mood they even closed the window and lowered the volume of the radio, but anyway, I prefer to opt for the memories of their generosity. For me, as a child, it was tremendously exciting to listen to the lavish presentation of the program, we all ran out leaving whatever we were doing at that moment to dedicate ourselves to listen and above all to activate our imagination. So you can deduce the great emotion I felt when, ironically, thanks to technology, I was able to go back in time, many years ago and relive the same emotions.
Era lo que llamaban en esa época, una radionovela, y básicamente se trataba de un justiciero que junto a su fiel escudero "Frijolito" se enfrentaba a los tiranos para defender a los pobres y vulnerables. En casa no teníamos radio, así que no teníamos otra alternativa más que escuchar el programa a través de la ventana de los vecinos, los cuales cuando estaban de buenas hasta nos abrían la puerta para dejarnos pasar y poder escuchar el programa con comodidad, pero si andaban de mal humor hasta cerraban la ventana y bajaban el volumen a la radio, pero en fin, prefiero decantarme por los recuerdos de su generosidad. Para mi, como niño, resultaba tremendamente emocionante escuchar la fastuosa presentación del programa, todos salíamos corriendo dejando lo que estuviésemos haciendo en ese momento para dedicarnos a escuchar y sobre todo activar nuestra imaginación. Así que deduzcan ustedes la gran emoción que me embargo cuando, irónicamente, gracias a la tecnología, pude volver en el tiempo, muchos años atrás y revivir las mismas emociones.
And in this way I have been finding those old radio and television programs that were part of my yesterday, a golden age that I treasure in my heart. Martin Valiente became for us an idol to follow, our games were based on the adventures of this character, just as Batman or Superman was for later generations, but what I liked most were the values that this program promoted and that also presented us with heroes and villains of everyday life, without super powers, only their courage and determination, and although Frijolito was scared to death he did not stop accompanying Martin faithfully, just as many people in everyday life have to face the challenges, without running away.
Y de esta manera he ido encontrando esos viejos programas de radio y televisión que formaron parte de mi ayer, una época dorada que atesoro en mi corazón. Martín Valiente se convirtió para nosotros en un ídolo a seguir, nuestros juegos se basaban en las aventuras de este personaje, tal como lo fue Batman o Superman para las posteriores generaciones, ero lo que más me gustaba eran los valores que promovía este programa y que además nos presentaban héroes y villanos de la vida cotidiana, sin super poderes, solo su valentía y determinación, y aunque Frijolito se moría de miedo no dejaba de acompañar con fidelidad a Martín, así como a muchas personas en la vida diaria tienen que enfrentarse a los retos, sin huir.
Later they brought out a comic book, and both things, the radio and this comic book, not only served to awaken the imagination and creativity, but even to socialize, because we always met at school or after school to comment on each episode, or as I told you before, to play Martin, the godson of death.
Posteriormente sacaron un comic, y ambas cosas, la radio y este comic, no solo servían para despertar la imaginación y creatividad, sino hasta para socializar, porque siempre nos reuníamos en el colegio o después de clases para comentar cada episodio, o como ya les dije anteriormente, para jugar a ser Martín, el ahijado de la muerte.
