Great Egret in Flight --
On a cool and windy January day I was able to get these shots of a #Great #Egret at a local urban park near my home in the Houston, Texas, USA suburb. Many do not realize what can be seen with such a short trip even right in town. I hope you enjoy these shots and I consider my entry for the #SMaP contest with the #birds in #flight theme favorably.
In this second shot I was able to capture the Great Egret perched in a fallen tree which is a bit unusual as they are most often captured either wading or in flight.
I really enjoy getting outside and observing the world that many folks overlook everyday. Amazing what you see when you slow down and notice the world around you!
