The Pied Crow, wow!!!! This bird is seen as the messenger between earthly realm and spiritual realm. This beautiful creature also symbolizes wisdom, intuition and prophecy. These were the things I saw as I researched more on the Pied Crow.
The picture above is that of a Pied Crow. It's the bird I chose to share with everyone as my entry for the #featheredfriends contest “of show me a photo contest round 205.”
The Pied Crow is widely distributed in Africa. It belongs to the crow genus of the Corvidae family according to scientific classification of animals. Its structure is better thought of as a small crow-sized raven, especially as it hybridized with Somali crow.
It's about the size of a European carrion crow or a little larger but with variations in the length of tail, wings and legs.
I took these photos while I was taking a stroll on Sunday evening. After a nap, I decided to stretch my leg muscles by moving out to have a cool stroll and I was blessed to see these amazing creatures. I grabbed the opportunity to take many photos and I promised myself to share them here with everyone in this community.
At first glance, the bird was a bit distant from me.
So I gradually moved closer to it and by the time I was almost too close, it flew off.
Since I didn't have a planned destination, I was just scrolling, I had to follow the bird to where it perched and took more photos as shown below:
Looking at the photos I just shared, one can describe the Pied Crow in a very detailed format.
The glossy black head and neck are interrupted by a large area of white feathering from shoulders down to the lower breast.
The tail, wings and even the bills are black.
One special thing about this bird is that they are generally encountered in pairs or small groups. I managed to see this one on the ground after it left its group to pick up some food.
That would be all I will writing about the Pied Crow, if you'd love to know more about the amazing creature, check it out here.
HereThis remains my entry for the #SMaP showed me a photo contest round 205. To know more about the contest:
