Feathered Friends.Hello all you bird lovers out there in #hiveland. Here we are again, showing off our photos of our
REFLECTIONS OF BIRDS
A few years ago, my husband and I rented a little house in Fort Myers Florida for a few weeks in February. It's become our habit to leave the cold winter of Upstate New York during that snowy and cold month. We enjoy the winter for the first couple of months here, but once the Holidays are done and the New Year has been rung, we close the house down and head for the sunshine state.
As many of you know, renting a property on the internet can be tricky. The photos of the property from a website can sometimes be deceiving.
NOT SO with this little gem. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked out the back door to find a beautiful fresh water lake. As soon as we were noticed by the next door neighbor, she walked over and introduced herself and her husband to us.
The first thing she talked about was all the birds we would see each day on the lake. Well, that sure made us happy. We both were just getting started with steem hive and the #featheredfriends community came to mind.
Since then, that community has expanded nicely.
Our rental proved to be everything we were told it would be, close to the beach, shopping, restaurants, grocery stores and a few museums too! But what really excited us was coffee in the early morning on the back porch while we enjoyed the show, as all sorts of birds flew in, played in the water and on the shoreline.
There was also an UNFEATHERED FRIEND, which was quite a sight to see.
There you have it my friends, my entry in this week's #smap contest, always fun sharing photos with people from around the globe.
Many thanks to @nelinoeva for her creative weekly themes, as well as @melinda010100 for sponsoring the contest and as always, kudos to @barbara-orenya for all her awesome artwork.
Happy #birdwatching y'all.
@farm-mom Wow - really lucky for you to find that property. Nice capture of the duck with reflection. The turtle is an added bonus 😀
It's never easy to capture a bird in flight, but I just love those sorts of photos.
Peace to you.Hi there @vm2904 , thanks for your nice comment.
@farm-mom Very true - birds in flight are not easy to capture. Focus and panning to keeping them in the frame is a big issue. I have managed to capture some though. Will be posting them soon in my posts. Just finding my 'community legs' (like sailors finding their 'sea legs' LOL) on HIVE right now. 😀
Ah, coffee in the porch and watching the birds, sounds great to me. 😀
Lovely shots with reflections, the first one is awesome. 😀 What a gem indeed you have found, @farm-mom.
Hey Neli, thanks so much. That rental was aces, in fact we tried to rent it for the same time the following year but it had already been called for.
Yes, for sure a great place to visit.
