**BIRD IN A BUCKET** Feathered Friends - Show Me A Photo Contest Round 108

in Feathered Friends2 years ago

Cheers to all you bird lover's out there in #hive land.

Are you ready for another contest? Ok, let's go, snap away for this week's #smap contest. @nelinoeva gave us full range on this week's challenge... free theme, that means anything goes as long as those little birdies are in the photo.

These chickadees are around all winter, they constantly entertain us, they are quick to fly off after stealing a seed, then they buzz right back for seconds, thirds, fourths, oh heck, they all look alike, so who knows how many helpings they get.

All I know for sure is they love to dine at our place.

I make sure the table is always set, keeping my seed bucket close by. A couple of mornings ago I was getting ready to serve the first meal of the day when the phone rang, so I ran inside to see who wanted to chat. My brother was on the line and we talked about some business and of course asked about each other's family. He also has four children, with 3 grands already.

As we spoke, I walked over to the kitchen window with the phone on my ear and was so surprised to see these cute little chicks buzzing in and out of the seed bucket I left open on the deck. It looked like a bird airport, the flights were on time apparently, yeah, just in time for breakfast.

Funny thing though, I was hoping to capture at least a few in the bucket at the same time, but nope, they lined up on the runway and took off, one at a time with rapid fire.

MESSING WITH SOME FILTERS

After capturing some photos of my #featheredfriends, I thought I would play around with some of the filters built into my program. In my opinion, the "Burlesque" filter worked nicely, giving the photo a nice warm glow.

What do you think?

Oh, my little chickadees!

Spring is just around the corner and we will see an influx of the "snowbirds", ya know, the ones that are smart enough to get the heck out of the frigid weather here in the north during the winter.

Truth is...Nature is amazing.

Time to go, looks like the lunch crowd is here.

To all of you who enjoy #birdwatching and #photography, have a wonderful day!

Hugs!

Wonderful post love it

Thank you very much @kombatnatuka, looks like you are new to the platform, welcome aboard.

I wonder how long it would take for them to empty the bucket. Over 6 days -150

Sometimes I have no idea what you are talking about, "over 6 days-150 ????

I think it would take the birds a few weeks to empty that size bucket, but you must know if left open our squirrely FRIENDS??? would have it wiped out overnight. Ha!

Betting lingo my dear.

Oh my your little chickadees! I just want to go get a bucket of seed right now! It would be great to have my yard as a destination for little feathered hibernators when the warm days wake them up and they need a snack.

I think I am going to start early this month to get some fresh bird feeders and seeds so the family can watch the different species as they return this spring.

#Birdbucket!

I think that would be great, we have feeders in several different places and we really get a lot of action. Some of the birds that disappear in winter know exactly where to stop in after the long flight.

Bird watching can be fun, especially with the #featheredfriends community in mind when you have the camera ready.

Hope you are well, enjoy the evening.

Little visitors lined up for a treat, just as well you left them to enjoy on their own, free passage to and fro !LOLZ

Filter "Burlesque" shows the eyes off, I too would select this for additional detail.

Wishing you a wonderful day with !LUV

Why did the worker get fired from the orange juice factory?
Lack of concentration.

Little buggers know well the bucket is for them. I can imagine how quickly the news were spread and the whole gang arrived for the feast. 😀
Lovely birds, these chickadees are. The filters are really nice. I like Mercury the most.
