All spoonbills have large, flat, spatulate bills and feed by wading through shallow water, sweeping the partly opened bill from side to side. It always looks funny when there is a group of spoonbills wading, sometimes they do even synchronize their movements in the water. Since today, I only found Spoonbills at Lake Neusiedler and it is probably the only place where you can find them in Austria. There are some spots in the Czech Republic. I think these are very beautiful birds and every time I see them I am very happy.

I hope this summer I will see them once again, but I still don't know yet when I will visit Lake Neusiedler again this summer for some wildlife photography, because the wetlands of the Inn River are a lot closer and it doesn't take so long to drive there, and the Inn River is also a very interesting Bird paradise.
