Common Blackbirds are one of the birds that stay in Austria during the winter. They hide in the undergrowth and look for food there on the ground. The male blackbirds haver such a great black color and a very beautiful orange beak. The female blackbird has a better camouflage color with its brown feathers. Most of the time this bird is running and jumping around in the undergrowth of the forest and not flying that much. They fly only when they want to get up on a tree or have to flee from an predator. Common over most of its range in woodland, the common blackbird has a preference for deciduous trees with dense undergrowth. I like the song of the blackbird very much. It is always remembering me of spring and this is such a great pleasure.
