One of the most beautiful mating dances is the one of the black winged stilts and I am happy that I could see and take pictures of it already several times. Lake Neusiedler in Austria is a great spot to watch these birds during mating season. Depending on the water level of the lake and the water puddles it can be difficult to find a nice spot where you are a bit covered and have some great sight to the birds at the same time.
I already saw the mating dance of the black winged stilts here in Austria several tiems and I have to admit that I really fell in love how beautiful this ceremony is. I have been on a photography trip to LAke Neusiedler together with 2 friends of mine and we were able to get really close to these birds, when they suddenly started to do their mating dance and the mating just a few seconds afterwards.
