Redshank wading in the shallow water

in Feathered Friends2 years ago

I really like waders since they are often so concentrated on finding food in the shallow water that they often don't care that I am lying nearby in the sand and wait for them to take some pictures. This way it is a lot easier to get close to a bird and waders are perfect for this. Although it has a good camouflage color I like its appearance very much. I think it is a very beautiful bird and I am always happy when I see it. It is a common bird but I only know one place where I can see it with a high chance - Lake Neusiedler. On the other places where I already saw and photographed it, Danube and Inn River it is only a short term visitor and often only there during migration time. Then you have to proof you luck and find it within a very short timeframe.

I like the abstract shadows made by the bird in the water.

!PIZZA

haha yes strange, but seems to come from the movement of the water and an odd angle of the sun.
