Western yellow wagtail at the river shore

In Spring when a lot of Birds are migrating it is a nice time for me to do some birdphotography. One spot that I often visit during spring time and when the water level of the Power Plant allows it, is a water power plant near Linz. If the water level underneath the powerplant is very low there are several nice spots for birds to find insects in the mudd or inbetween the rocks. For me this is the time where I need to get out and also play part in the mudd. Usually I have a matt with me that allows me to lie down on the ground very flat and also helps me to not get cold and wet. The pictures from the shallow angle of the ground are just a lot better than trying to get a shot from above.

And another positive thing is, if you lie on the ground and only barely move birds will get a lot closer to you than if you are sitting or standing up. This western yellow wagtail for example came pretty close after I waited there on the ground patiently.
