Hi everyone. I am so happy to be back here and submit an entry to SMAP Contest 59. The Show Me A Photo Contest is hosted by @nelinoeva and judged by the distinguished @oks2crypto. The contest post with the rules can be found here in case you haven't heard of this yet and are interested in finding out more about this. Do read up and join the fun.
The theme for this week is:
SMALL BIRDS
Last week I had the occasion to attend an art exhibit presented by the different artists of the all-women group called the Bai Hinang here in our city. The group's name is taken from the local dialect of the ancient settlers of our island. "Bai" stands for woman and "Hinang" means work. My daughter, Jacinta, is a member of this group.
The exhibit was held at the foyer of one of our city's famous art galleries, La Herencia, and ran for 5 days. I was excited to see the different paintings and works of art that were displayed and secretly hoped that some of them could give me something to share with the various communities in Hive that I joined in. I saw a couple of beautiful art pieces of a peacock but that was all I found that would be appropriate for the Feathered Friends Community.
But on the last day of the exhibit I saw these two art works and took some photos of them. I told myself that there will definitely be an opportunity sometime in the future to share these. And guess what? The theme of this week's SMAP was right on the money!
Sparrows, two of them, painted on sliced pieces of small tree trunks! Small birds that are just perfect for this week's SMAP. They were displayed on a very small table just before the staircase leading to the foyer. So unobstrusive that I nearly failed to see them. This was how they were displayed.
They were not part of the Bai Hinang's exhibit. They were actually just art deco to liven up the place. The contraption at the back of the sparrows is a miniature Philippine traditional musical instrument called a kulintang made of brass.
And that's all for this post. Thanks to our sponsors The Feathered Friends Community and @melinda010100, to our creative supporter @barbara-orenya, to @ecency and @erikah. May you all have a wonderful week ahead. Stay safe and be happy. And a very big good luck to all the participants!

Awww, you surprised me again with something so extraordinary. This is great entry for the contest.
So happy for your comment. Just made my day. Thanks for the ecency tip. I just rediscovered the advantages of using the ecency app and am on it now full time for Hive 🥰
I missed your entries my friend. Hope all is well with you and your family.
Ecency app is great and I am so glad you like it. Are you using the mobile or the desktop app?
My family and I are doing fine though tightening our belts as prices, especially petroleum, have gone up over 80% in the last month. They say it is a result of the war in Ukraine that is bringing prices up.
I am using my phone for ecency so that must mean I am using the mobile app. A quick question though. I checked the points in the app and it shows a history of the points earned. Are tips received from contests like yours supposed to be shown too? There's no advise of it in the history. Well anyway, do have a great day @nelinoeva and keep safe and healthy 🤗
The impact of the war is inevitable and it affects all. It is really horrible.
We also have prices creeping.
I use more often the desktop on my tablet, there all can be seen. I guess it should be the same with the mobile. Just looked at the mobile app, but history is not the same.
Anyways, I looked in my history and I did not find the tip I sent you. So, I did it again. Apology for that. You may check it now. It should be OK now.
Yes it is now in my history 🤗
Thank you my friend. Another question if you don't mind 😊 What is a heartbeat?
You can ask as many questions as you like. 🙂
If not mistaken, this points are for check in. Actually you can earn points all the time, by posting, commenting...
That's a nice little bird it looks like a baby Australian Kookaburra 👍
To be honest I have this tendency to call all small brown birds sparrows 😂😂
I know what you mean there are to many birds out there that look similar so little sparrows will have to do I guess 🤣🤣🤣
