When I started out with Feathered Friends years ago my first interest had been with crows because they were one of the few birds that always could be seen in the open area behind our house. My first attempts at photographing birds were with crows and believe me, there were just too much frustrations and disappointments on the shots I took. Well, the fact that I also only had a low end cell phone as my camera just exacerbated the situation. But I soon got the hang of it and I have captured some really decent shots of these crows. Lately, I have moved on to other species of birds which have now begun appearing in the area. And the crows took a back seat.

But recently, I saw a big one perched at the top of the gate of the back area and took some shots. These, by far, are the closest I have come to picture these black creatures and they do look a bit scary. Don't you think so?

I don't know but the pics evoked images of vultures and Edgar Allan Poe's the Raven. And knowing they are scavengers just reinforced the creepy feeling. Maybe that's what made me move on to other "friendly" and "cheerful" species.

The first photo of this post is my entry to this Round.

All for now and may you all have a blessed Sunday.
