RE: Dressing up Pelican tuxedo style for a free meal in Bokkom Laan, South Africa.

in Feathered Friends2 years ago

First time as children we saw our first Pelican was in Bulawayo Park, my Dad said this verse (born 1911 it must have been something he learned growing up).

Dixon Lanier Merritt in 1910: "A wonderful bird is the pelican. His bill will hold more than his belican. He can take in his beak, Food enough for a week, I'm damned if I know how the hell he can!"

Limerick of that day and age, we were taught some good things back then !LOLZ

Ahhh, I love that and it is brilliant & true lol. Definately a great environment to have grown up in by the sounds of it 😊

We had loads of fun, enjoyed travel by train through Southern Africa. Short ditty's were normally educational from my Dad and plain naughty from his brother... 🙃 yes fun times!

Ahhhh, those were the days of sure 😊
