The Baltimore Orioles have returned this week and I am surprised again that I have forgotten just how brilliant their colors are.

They arrive in bunches, although only some will remain and nest here. The rest will continue their migration to points further north.

The grape jelly that is in the feeder is a favorite treat.

Young male Baltimore Orioles do not molt into bright-orange adult plumage until the fall of their second year, and are difficult to tell from the females.

We have record low temperatures predicted this week, so I hope they don't regret their decision to return.

What do they feed on??

Mostly insects, but they love fruit and flower nectar. I have grape jelly in the feeder and it's a favorite!

Hi There!
Absolutely Gorgeous Shots!!!
👍🏼😁👍🏼

Thanks so much! They are rather photogenic, aren't they?

Yes they are!

All this pictures are so perfect... And all this birds OMG the color is so amazing😍😍😍

Aren't they stunning? They build nests that hang from the branches like cradles. Such beautiful birds!

They are too beautiful. I think I have seen some close to home!😍😍😍

I think they come visit you when it starts getting cold here!

I think so. And they enjoy eating mango and soursop. We must be aware that they do not eat all the soursop because we give them to Mirian for Alejandro loves the juice of soursop

Yes, they do love eating fruit! And so does Ale? I have never had the opportunity to try soursop. It does not grow here.

If Ale loves fruit. It's a shame that they don't have soursop there, because it's delicious..

You take great pictures. This birds are so beautiful

Thank you! I'm happy you like them! 😊

Beautiful birds! Awesome photos. It must be nice to have a place to rest and tank up, before flying on, to their destinations.

Thank you! I certainly enjoy having them return each year! Even though the weather doesn't feel like it, they make me believe that summer is getting close!

I have never experienced the changing seasons, but I guess I can imagine what it must be light. :-)

I'm sure you can imagine it. I often wonder if I would enjoy being somewhere that they didn't change. I think somewhere where the change is more subtle than here would be nice!

Absolutely! That I can understand. :-)

Verynice 😉

I have a garden overfilled with birds. They fly straight into our faces. Day and night we sit in their load noises but making a photo is still impossoble.
Good luck to all. 💕

Oh, that's too bad! Tell them to pose for you! 😁

I'll ask. 👍💕

Wow, they are gorgeous!
Thanks for sharing 🐤 💚

Feathers sometimes look yellow

They do, don't they?

What a lovely collection of beautiful colored birds you have coming to your house you seeds must be yummy 😊

It would get pretty lonely around here if I didn't at least have these guys visiting!

I can relate to that with the present situation your lucky to be seeing these beautiful guys 👍

Nice clicks...
Thanks for sharing

They have quite a sweet tooth. I saw one the other day eating nectar out of all the blooming trees.

They are fruit lovers, that's for sure! No wonder they go to Central America, and the northern part of South America to spend the winter.

Like a sunset 🐗

You are right, they are!
