It's time to make another beautiful post, or at least that's how I consider my photographs, really only some of us understand how difficult it is to get the result we are looking for, for example today's photographs were taken on two different days and being honest I took many photographs that were not worth showing and I ended up deleting them from my collection, so today I present 6 photographs of the ones I took in advance for the contests.
I seriously think I need a better lens with a longer focal length than the lens I currently use, but as long as the cryptocurrency situation doesn't improve or my personal situation, I don't have the luxury of investing in gear upgrades, instead I've been looking for ways to be a little more invisible to the animals I want to photograph even though sometimes the results are not the best.
So I had to invest two days for these photographs, and we start with the one I personally like the most in this series, because we can see the bird feeding and it is the photograph I want to participate in this week's contest in the Feathered Friends community.
Going back in time chronologically, I took many pictures before I fully understood what were the best settings on my camera to take the pictures I was looking for, and my idea from the beginning was to take the picture of the bird while it was feeding, but due to the wind and the short time to be able to focus properly, some pictures still came out a bit wrong, just like the following image.
In the end I was in the right place and standing still without moving a single foot pre-focused my camera and bam! There was part of what I came to do! A beautiful photograph although it wasn't really what I wanted. Still a beautiful picture.
The next hummingbird is one that I had not seen before in this garden, I guess it must be one of those that come in migration from other countries, but what I could see is that it likes to fight and came taking space from the other hummingbirds that inhabited the place.
The next day I failed again in the first few pictures, but I didn't stop trying to get the image I wanted, plus I was getting good at my hiding technique and I was getting a little closer to the action.
And the result as you have already seen in the cover picture, which I place here again so as not to lose the chronology.
Finally a photograph that although it is not the one I was looking for, I can't doubt that I like the result, and I probably regret not choosing it to participate in the contest, but in my mind I wanted the image of the hummingbird feeding, so just for that fact I am satisfied with this photographic hunt.
What a lovely shots, the last shot especially, showing that little birdie.
Thank you very much, it was hard to get the picture but it was worth it.
Thanks to you.
Thank you!
Hummingbirds are stunning beauty! Must be hard to take a proper shot?
Yes, it is quite difficult.
Oh I know how it feels to get the best shot without being seen. Not to mention how many crap photos I got deleted. But you have done brilliant job and getting the hummingbird flying and feeding was just spot on.
Thanks, I guess the percentage of acceptable photos must be around 10% maximum, but it's fun.
This tiny bird is hard to capture on film when it's perched on something never mind when it's in flight. The last picture is splendid!
Yes, when the bird is flying, it may have already flown somewhere else by the time you shoot the camera, they are moving too fast.
