Little ducks, ducklings - who can resist their sweetness and cuteness?
Recently I was in Sofia where I met my son @george-topalov and we spent some time in the city parks together. I wished to see the black woodpecker, but alas, I had no luck. The parks were full with different birds, many blackbirds, starlings and pigeons, but I was looking for something different. Like the ducks in the pond. I was happy to see mommy duck and the ducklings, who I think are more like teenagers.
One of them was swimming in front, flapping its tiny wings above the water.
And back in the water.
The family was coming closer and that allowed me to make a better photo. I'm afraid many of the shots did not turned good enough.
Look at this cutie. The feathers are just starting to grow and soon will replace the baby fluff.
And where is the father? Not far from the family, resting on the other side of the pond.
But not for long, it is time for a little swim.
The mallard ducks are not unusual for any city park as long as there is water. Small pond or pool, marsh and there you are, you cannot miss them. For me, strangely enough, this was the first encounter with the whole family. The local park where I walk the dog is very small and there is no pond or puddle for the ducks. Perhaps this is the reason why I am so enthusiastic about ducks. I am not counting the ones I saw in the zoo. ☺
And that's all for now. Till next time with some more amazing birds.
