Hello Feathered Friends Lovers,
Welcome to #SMaP Show Me A Photo Contest Round 56!
For this week I would like to show me Unusual bird photo/s. What does it mean? It is free to interpret, but I would like to read why this is unusual for you. I come to this prompt after I took this photo of the seagull. I saw it on the top of a chimney and I thought it would be nice to capture it. The moment I pressed the shutter, the seagull opened wide the beak, so wide I have never seen before. You can see the tongue even. And more unusual is that the bird was standing on one leg. Was it one legged seagull?
And here it is:
The new theme
UNUSUAL BIRD PHOTO
Another example is this photo of the coal tit who was caught at the moment of flying off. It is like a feather ball. 🙂
Now is your turn and let me see your photos of birds, but first read the rules below⬇️
Rules
Show me your photo of a bird, following these rules:
- The photo must be your own.
- Post in the community Feathered Friends

Thank you for viewing.
Unusual is rather an unusual topic! The possibilities are endless. My turkeys were having quite a tussle today. But I was there without camera. The hawks have been chasing the crows away from our homestead but again.....no camera. I'm looking forward to the other entrants
You still got time and hope to see your entry. 🙂
There are really many possibilities and I am curious what the entries will be.

Unusual in the sense that probably I have not seen a seagull in real life so far. At least I currently do not remember. But there are seagulls in my country (in Hungary).
I have not heard about such a thing so far, but I have a Harris's hawk, and she can lift up her legs, standing on only one leg. Maybe the seagulls are also capable of doing this.
Hi @xplosive,
The contest is widely open and it is all about how one can interpret the theme.
It is not about my photos, they are just illustration and example. It is about the photos/s the contestants will present. If you have some photos of birds you think they are unusual in some way, feel free to submit your entry. 🙂

Hi @angiemitchell 🙂
So glad you enter again the contest.
oh! One-legged bird with long beak, never seen, ever seen two-legged bird.
I am sure it is just coincidence when I click and got an image like this. The bird must be quite normal. 🙂
Such a cool theme, thank you @nelinoeva! Here goes my entry:

Thank you @hindavi for your submission.
Here's my entry! Thanks for the contest.
I have two ideas for a theme. The first one I think might be some welcomed comic relief: birds pooping and places where there's lots of bird poop, like sea rocks, under roosts, etc. Especially action poop shots!
Second one, I can't remember if I suggested it or not, is corvids. There are so many birds in the corvid family. Ravens, rooks, crows, jackdaws, magpies, jays, choughs...
Thank you so much for your entry and your suggestions!
It would be fun with the birds pooping, I just need to find myself fresh photos. 😀
And about the corvids, I love it, this is a big family and would be great to have it. I will definitely use it.
Yay! I will probably run out of voting power when you use the corvid theme!
I have an entry for this weeks theme of unusual with this funny view of a nuthatch.
