I read once how the population of sparrows decreased. It doesn't feel as such while I watch them in the park. They gathered in flocks to feed from conifer and moved from one tree to another.
Here below I got photos from the weekend. I changed the settings of the camera several times, because I still don't know which one is the best when it is cloudy.
They share the food with the finches. This time with goldfinch. I could hear before see the finch and they were rather noisy while pecking the seeds.
The sparrows can be good models. I suppose this winter I will be having many photos of them. Since there are other birds hanging around I will be using every opportunity when I see sparrows to look carefully if there are some finches or wrens. And speaking about wrens, let me tell you how I spend almost two hours stalking them, or at least one of them. I am now certaiin that they live next to my home. There are shrubs and hedges where they hide. I saw the little bugger, but it was fast and hiding in the dense shrub the moment I point the camera.
I think it is a matter of time and luck again to have photos of wren. And standing around the shrub waiting for the bird to appear made me think how lucky I was because I usually take my photos walking together with my hubby and the dog and not standing at one place for more than five minutes.
When the birds are busy pecking their food, it is easier to get nice shots. Then they are not distracted by me. Like this hungry bird.
And in the end a photo of this puffed cutie.

Wow! These are very nice and cozy photos of these tiny birds! They look as if they are very near or just by the window! Waiting for the wrens’ photos!

Beautiful captures of the small birds, they move so quickly between the branches always testing ones patience. Nice learning about the birds you are currently seeing in your region @nelinoeva
I was glad to see so many. It was easy when they were pecking the seeds.
