Waiting at the doctor's place I saw the swallows flying high up.
It was late afternoon and I call this my three light photo. A street lamp next to the mountain, a halo around the sun and the sun itself.
A Happy Friday to all and this is why I like waiting, as I don't wait like normal people. To sit cloistered and surrounded by sick people in a waiting room is not my kind of fun, so Marian goes in to register my arrival and I wait outside. Then she sits in an isolated place with her crossword book and comes to call me when it's my turn to see the doctor.
Only one time that she couldn't find me, as I followed the call of a young falcon :)
So come and see the fast swallows.
But first I will show you the light conditions in this photo below.
It seemed that the cloud snake was swallowing the sun.
My target was the sun to get the swallows flying in it's light and so the 3 photos below are near misses as they flew past the sun.
These are Greater Striped Swallows (Cecropis cucullata) and they are speed merchants.
Bang! I got him right in the ball of the sun.
Not too easy to get them in the sun as one second too late on the click and they flew past the sun.
I think that these below were European Starlings.
A Bonus! This Pied Crow showed me how easy it is to get a bird crossing the sun.
So yes, I was thankful that I got the swallows a few times and I hope that you liked the photos.

I'm always amazed how you are able to take photos of birds in flight. I really have to practice it more, or better said I have to start practicing 😅

You will easily get it right my friend, simply start with dragonflies like I did, as they say that if you can get a dragonfly, then you can get anything 🤣 !LOLZ
I was not even gone for long Hannes, only about an hour, so not my fault that she had to re-schedule the appointment 😉

Yep, you have told me that before, and that's the first problem - in the past few years I have only seen two or three dragonflies, so this will be a challenge, I believe 😀
I bet you even blamed the doctor for working that fast, so you had no time for important things 😉

Oy Vay, 3 dragonflies in a few years. It's going to take you a lifetime to practice on dragonflies, so maybe you should rather practice on flies 😉
Hahaha, I have one of the new generation doctors that are incredibly well informed about a range of illnesses. I show him a sunspot on my finger and he says, oh that is a methaloneaous susticus lethaphore. A what? Spaghetti talk for a sunspot and even my PC doesn't understand it, as it red lines the words 🤣
He is a very good guy as he treats the poor children from a charity for free and we like him. So he didn't mind the wait as he just continued to see his other patients. I think that he knew that I was doing something more important than to see a doctor 😜
The receptionist minded and she booked us for another visit 😉

I can understand the receptionist though, because she has a lot to do to book all people and you have ruined her plans 😉
