I was in the army in Oudtshoorn and there was a few ostrich farms, which are still there methinks.
Yes, I can remember that some workers were killed by an ostrich and if I remember correctly one's stomach was ripped out from a kick.

Some people have had bad encounters with the big birds, perhaps a good idea is to leave the animals to live and stop molesting them into trying to ride them like a circus!

Riding an ostrich is indeed a despicable dishonor to such a proud creature.
Across the African continent my friend and we once had a French male teacher that refused to draw the curtains in his class room at the end of the day. He stubbornly refused by saying it's a woman's job.

Education is many areas needed, riding elephants is also bad for the animal which we never knew previously, once it is proven it should be banned outright worldwide.
