Bruno, our German Shepard dog, is always keen to go for a walk and today we are going to our favorite spot up the hill.
Bruno Stepping Out for a Walk in the Sun Rays
On the way to the hilltop we pass a frozen pond which made for an interesting scene with the sun just coming above the trees.

Up on the hilltop Bruno surveys the surroundings then he is off exploring and romping through the snow. It's great to watch someone loving life and running for the sheer joy of running!

Bruno Racing Through Snow
Bruno loves to roll in the snow and dig his nose in taking up the scents leaving him with a snowy face.

After a big run we headed back to the yard where we found some new birds under the feeder - the redpolls were back!
Redpolls Searching for Food Among the Sunflower Seed Shells Under the Feeder
The males have a lovely red breast along with their red cap where as the females only have the red caps as you can see in the photo below.

At the other feeder there were grosbeaks feeding, both the evening and the pine grosbeak.

There were lots of Bluejays calling from the trees but I only caught one at the feeder.
Bluejay Looking at Me From Feeder
Up in the maple trees there was a flock of grosbeaks eating the seeds - check them out in the video below ( the sound you hear is the bluejays but if you listen closely you will hear the peeping sounds of the grosbeaks) -

Also up in the maple trees were chickadees but they seemed to be eating the buds on the tree not the seeds.

The evening light made for an interesting scene on the big spruce and poplar trees.

And my favorite view is of the moon as I zoom in to catch the details of the surface. It always fascinates me and I hope it fascinates you too!

Love your photos of the redpolls. I haven't seen any yet this year, it must need to get colder farther north before they come visit me!
Bruno looks so happy playing in the snow. Our Anna used
To do that burying her face in the snow thing, too.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful photos with the Feathered Friends Community!
Grosbeak has a lovely call, most unusual. Variety of pretty little birds up North during the cold winter months with lovely flashing colour in their wings, you would think they would disappear yet they stay.
Bruno scenting for everyone to know he lives here, also smelling for those below the snow, lovely portrait in first photograph of him standing surveying the lands.
Have a wonderful day, I thoroughly enjoy the walk enjoying the cool photography, birds!
